Lovely food, lovely people. My husband and I eat here regularly. Nice and quiet! They play gentle, old fashioned music here and you can actually have a conversation! So unusual in this manic, brash city.
The food is fresh, very flavoursome and not oversalted llke so many Thai places. A great place to take friends or family. Have never had a bad meal here. For the price, definitely better than your average Thai. Very vego-friendly.

Stumbled across the reviews for Strawberry Fields Patisserie while looking for local places to eat.
After reading the very favourable reviews we thought we should check it out and have not been disappointed. The croissants (of all types) are amazingly good and the coffee is top rate.
We are still working our way around the menu but my favourite so far has been the bacon and egg scroll. So many beautiful flavours in a mess free scroll.
Looking forward to trying everything.

The decor of this place could be worth the visit alone and gives a hint of a fun night ahead. Totally untrue. The staff never smiled and did not connect at all with our party. As a party of more than ten we were obliged to have a banquet which sadly was not only of average quality but simply ran out with no attempt by staff to top up the serving dishes.
At $40/head their absolute refusal to include tea or coffee capped of a very ordinary evening. I'm sure the 21 people from our party will not only never return but their Facebook and Twitter pages are surely buzzing to spread the word. My advice, walk in and have a look, it is fabulously and tackily unique, but then leave and eat elsewhere.

I've been a few times and have found the food to be fresh, simple and tasty. Staff are mostly young and very friendly and welcoming. I had a delicious wagyu beef salad and a strong and excellent long black. Highly recommended.

I went there yesterday for the first time. My husband and I are new to the area so we decided to try this new cafe. We walked in and were greeted by a staff member with a wonderful welcome. We sat down the young lady come with the Breakfast and the lunch menu which was great because it was way passed breakfast time. We ordered our cafes which come and were wonderful smooth and creamy.
I ordered one of the specials on the board, Octopus with Beetroot salad Yum. My husband ordered bacon and egg roll, the food was wonderful. I am one of these people who like to wait for my food as I know then that it is cooked fresh. The orange juice was so fresh and cool. I would definitely be back to PS. I found everything about it great. The service, food and pleasant staff. Congratulations to the young men that have opened this cafe.

Seriously great place. I frequent this cafe everyday and although it's not A class restaurant grade fine dining, compared to what you get as an all round cafe, it's hard to beat. Portion sizes are massive.

The Gladstone hotel is a good place to watch sport and socialize, the drinks are reasonably priced and the hotel has a good feel to it.
The food is ordinary though, I had the $10 Schnitzel, it was one of those microwaved Schnitzels you buy from the supermarket.

I have been to PS Cafe 3 times and have found all 3 times the service to be non attentive. The coffee has been very strong, burnt and bitter. On one occasion we ordered the same dish and they came out 20 minutes apart. We also ordered drinks which we had to ask for again.
It is a shame, yet again a failure in service and good food.

A great little cafe for a lazy sunday brunch. It's a relaxing atmosphere with a mix of families, couples and groups of all ages. The service is fast and friendly, and the food is great. Absolutely love the tiny teddy with the coffee, it is such a simple, but lovely touch. Definitely will be back again.

I heard about this place from a girlfriend of mine who suggested that she quite possibly had the best custard tart and hot cross bun she had ever tasted.
So, I travelled all the way from Bondi to Dulwich Hill one Saturday morning and arrived at a quaint shop that focussed its attention to all things Parisian and Beatles and decided to have a coffee and croissant. The service was quick and the serving staff pleasant. The croissant was straight out of the oven and so good, I could have eaten 10 of them. I hadn’t tasted a croissant like it before. The coffee also a 10 out of 10.
Curious, I spoke to the chef. He said proudly that he bakes all his pastries and cakes from scratch on site. So I decided to take a treat box home. I loaded the car with a custard tart, lemon meringue, the signature Strawberry Fields Forever, carrot cake and a dozen hot cross buns.
After tasting all the delicious treats, I can safely say that Strawberry Fields is now my most favourite place in the world.

I found Strawberry Fields by pure luck, it was my sons birthday and I was on crutches with a recently broken ankle and there was this little shop. The cafe had just opened - 4 days if I recall and I asked for a cake, the chef was so very accommodating and offered and dressed a chocolate brownie cheesecake.
Whilst there I over heard a friend of the chef talking about the custard tart, so curious me bought one of the tarts as well, now I must admit, I do not like cheesecake (my son does) and seriously have never enjoyed custard tart But I am a convert - Yum... and yes that cheesecake was sublime, 10 for Strawberry Fields. I hope the team there does well!

PS has a simple menu for lunch with some burgers, wraps, sandwiches and salads along with a blackboard special which was more of a breakfast dish. I ordered a piccolo latte and the chicken burger.
The piccolo arrived promptly and I found it quite hot and sadly a little bitter for my liking. It did have a strong flavour which I liked but as mentioned did leave a bitter aftertaste.
The chicken burger also arrived promptly, it had 2 good sized pieces of grilled chicken breast which were well cooked, avocado, cheese, tomato, lettuce and garlic roasted aioli, the menu mentioned sun dried tomatoes as well but these weren't on the burger. Can I say that all of the ingredients were really fresh and tasty and the burger was very nice. My only criticism would be is that the chicken needed to be rested for a short while after grilling because as soon as I lifted the burger my plate was covered in juice from the chicken and I wasn't able to put it down without making it a soggy mess.
PS is new and I think they are finding their feet, it has a clean, modern airy feel about it and I'm sure will improve with time and experience. The staff were all smiling and friendly, I would definitely give them another go as it looks like the locals already are.
