I agree with the other reviews. Food's Ok but service is terrible. Not just bad but terrible. I sat and waited to be served at around 2.30 pm for lunch. The place was empty and I guess that should have been a sign! After not being served for ages, I got up asked for a menu. I wasn't in a hurry but no one came near me again.

After deciding what I wanted, I had to go up to the counter and order there. The 'way too cool' guy making coffee was visibly annoyed that he had to take the order. Obviously that was the job of the lady organising cutlery or the two guys sitting over at the window having a chat.

The food was very good. But no one came near us again. Had to go to counter and ask if I could order a coffee. The last contact with staff was when we went up to the counter and paid. So I guess it's all about making the customer do the hard work! There's plenty of good spots around here now, I won't go back.

I have been to Xchange recently with some friends from Sydney, and they could not rave about it enough. They went back three times before they returned to Sydney. The service was spot on, very friendly and professional. Food was of high standard with a lot of variety and the coffee was always great.

I agree with the other reviews below 100%, the service is absolutely terrible! I have a toddler also and there was no care whatsoever. If anything we had dirty looks from all waitresses the whole time. We were treated like 2nd class citizens also, won't be going back!

I have been a few times and found the food quite good but service a bit rude. I have little kids and they don't have high chairs.

Service is absolutely terrible. Had people from Canberra recommend the place and I visited with husband and son and was treated like a 2nd class citizen. There are so many other wonderful cafes to visit and we won't be going back. Shame as the place and food is good.

Food at the cafe rates well for the average cafe prices. The coffee is also generally of good quality. Service and ambience is let down by the managing waitress who lacks any people skills. She is uncapable of putting on a friendly face and is quick to speak rudely to customers. This is an unfortunate set back to what could otherwise be a highly rated cafe to recommend to visitors to Canberra. My family will not be returning to or recommending this venue again.

The food is excellent, and the best value breakfast you can get in Canberra. All the dishes look fantastic, and the coffee is top quality. You can't find a better place in the city for breakfast, it's a pity they don't open on Sundays as well!

I had lunch there yesterday and was really impressed with the quality of the food, the imaginative menu and the really great service, in fact, my dining companions and I remarked on how you don't often find such good service any more.

The senior staff was the rudest person I have ever dealt with in a restaurant or cafe. The food was good, but you can't make up for the service. I won't be going back.
