I paid just under $15 for 2 rice rolls (served cold from the fridge and therefore tasteless) and 3 small and rather dull chicken gyoza. Perhaps, huge bowls of noodles in soup is the way to go but I shall give it a miss. Service was non-existent, had to ask for chop sticks, there were no napkins and/or cutlery on the table and I was not offered water.

Having never been to a Wagamama before, I was curious to see if all the hype was true. Unfortunately, in Canberra it is not. The service was terrible, the atmosphere reminiscent of a family fast food restaurant and I had to wait nearly an hour to be served a meal which I then brought up hours later. This is the worst Japanese food I have ever had the displeasure to taste.
I'm not sure if it was the half-cooked salty noodles, the mountains of capsicum thrown on top or the lack of chicken in a supposedly chicken dish that was the worst thing. The dumpling entree was, however, very good. Overall about 1/2 a star. I would rather be at somewhere else in Glenelg.

I was after a shot of globalisation so I dropped by the very handily located Wagamamas on Bunda for a light bite to eat. I enjoy the vibe here and know more or less what to expect. We ordered a taste of a few things including: the sweet potato chips (good allrounder with interesting dip), gyoza (could do with a more plump, fresher taste), san choy bao spring rolls (limp lettuce and sauce which lacked subtlety). Appreciate the concept and friendly staff but could be better with a little less heavy handedness with the food and more subtlety in flavour.

I have heard mixed thoughts on this place but a friend and I recently dined there and was very surprised. Food quality was great I loved my noodles and will be back sometime soon!

Having visited Japan quite a few times and experienced food there I can assure you that Wagamama is far from typical Japanese. It felt more like an American fast food restaurant. While the food was tasty and somewhat authentic, the servings were too expensive for their size. I would expect to pay for food that was presented well and not precooked but this was just fast food with poor service.
Do not recommend. There are a lot of better quality restaurants close by that give you better experience.

The positives: It's just like any other Wagamama, so you pretty much know what you will get. And that's not at all bad.
The negatives: Why if almost every other restaurant on earth can send out a table's food in one batch, does Wagamama find this so hard? The statement by the waiter that the meals come from different kitchens is not our problem. It's just plain rude to have to wait watching your plate of food rapidly get cold, while the rest of the family drools expectantly.

Typical Wagamama fare. Excellent noodles, but the bench seating can get annoying if it is busy. Still, a good deal and you know what you are getting.

I agree with the other review, the service is terrible at Waggis in Canberra. I went there last night and had exactly the same experience, we were made to wait awkwardly in the front entrance for ten minutes while in full view there were free spaces everywhere on the benches. When we were finally seated, I tried three times to wave and grab the attention of a waiter. It was only on my fourth attempt, when I stuck my hand directly in their path, that someone was forced to pay attention.
The only redeeming feature is the food. You shouldn't go there expecting a relaxed atmospheric evening, otherwise, you'll be bitterly disappointed. Wagamama is set up for quick in and out healthy fast food before a night out at the movies or in town. If only the wait staff could facilitate that better by actually serving the customers rather than ignoring them.

I eat here every few months to use up all the free wagamama meals I accumulated in Sydney, each time hoping the service will improve.
Well, they're no longer spilling water on me (and giggling), forgetting drinks orders and meals (multiple visits worth of tragic stories) and ignoring frantic hand waving. But they do make you wait and look at the menu in the drafty doorway even when there are lots of empty tables and lots of staff doing nothing. And everyone but the girl at the register thinks they're very cool. The food is fine and appropriately priced (though they partially pre-cook some ingredients - no worries, except when you notice!). Duck gyozas are great.
