This was an appalling experience. The service was rude, late and unapologetic. Cheap terrocota tiles masked with cheap carpets do not make for ambience, if I order $30 meal I expect the waiter to remember it, not scream across the table for who ordered what. I will never go back.

I love this place. Whenever I would travel from Melbourne visiting friends in Canberra I would always eat here! It is excellent! Thanks Peter.

The kangaroo with quandong sauce is to die for. Love that it is all organic and the service is very friendly and lovely. And vego options for the non-meat eaters. Probably the most consistent restaurant I have been to in Canberra in a long time.

I have been coeliac for 2 years now, and kind of over the only gluten free options in restaurants being a steak and undressed salad. It was my birthday recently and I had been dragging my heels about going out for dinner (largely because I end up being served gluten and I end up quite ill), so my lovely fiance grabbed the yellow pages and found The Ridge Restaurant at Farrer shops, in their advert they say they cater for gluten free.
Well, OMG the options were endless! I could choose from Every main meal! The dessert options were exciting and different and the entrees were tempting, so we had to try those as well. Yes, it's BYO, however, we knew that from the advert. $3 corkage is nothing!
In our party were my fiance, and my brother (2 big meat eaters, and no, not gluten free) and our 2 children (not fussy, but kids so prepared to try something slighty different).
Eeeryone was happy with their meals! We will all be back. It looked pretty busy in there, so we'll be sure to book ahead. Lovely service, so attentive. I didn't have to make a big deal about the "gluten thing" cause they understood. Even organic options.
I personally sampled an Antipasto entree, sharing with the others, lovely! Main - pork stuffed with apricots and prunes, just cooked beautifully. Tender, and tasty.
Dessert, I had decided on the Day and Night Mousse Cake from the menu displayed outside. And it was to die for! A very, very, very good meal and we'll be back!
