So surprised that the line for yum cha is always out the door. We booked a table in advance and still had to wait to be seated. Chairs, tables, light fittings were all very nice, but the place was way too crowded for my taste. If they got rid of some of their tables and managed reservations better I might go back.

Prince Palace was a huge disappoinment. The customer service and the food was just not presentable. Even I could cook better Chinese food than that.

In comparison to the other restaurants I've been, the service provided at Prince palace was almost rude. I find that they don't really care about your order. They just want to take the order, get the money and send you out.
The deep fried oysters were nice but that was after we reminded them that we've waited for a long time. I will never go there again.

The restaurant itself is quite nicely decked out. What spoiled it for us was the dead fish in the tank on the way in, which the fellow didn't seem to care about. (I didn't notice but others in the group did).
The food was quite clean compared to some Chinese places, not as oily as usual. We were half way thru our dishes when the boiled rice finally came out though. The food did all taste very similar and I doubt we chose all similar dishes (we had 4).
Service is a little random. We had tea and they kept it topped up, the starters came out fairly quickly, but then there was a big break before the mains and then they came out randomly too (with the rice super late).
Overall, with mains from $16 up, I doubt we'll be back as there are others in the area we much prefer that are better value for money.

As someone who is familiar with Chinese cuisine, Prince Palace is just disappointing. I can't understand why there are so many people dining there! I tried lunch and dinner, both were bad, especially the dinner. The flavouring is just chicken stock (msg) and salt, the dishes are made cheaply, and it feels as if everything was cooked by someone who has never cooked before.
Lunch (dim sums) lacked refined flavour too, and the pastry (both the yellow type and clear type) covering the dim sums were so thick that I felt like I was eating 80% skin and 20% filling. I have to say, this is one of the worst Chinese restaurants in Canberra.

We have dined here for both yum cha and regular meals. The yum cha is standard fare, nothing special and little variety. When dining here for a regular meal the service is way too slow. I also attended a birthday function where the set banquet menu was ordered. We waited for over an hour for the starters to come out and then another hour for any further food. I would not recommend this restaurant.

Not enjoying the food, or the service at all. Every dishes have lots of onions in it. Very poor service, rude staffs. We ordered chicken in some special sauce on the special menu, when the waiter brought out the dish and said chicken in mongolian sauce. Obviously, it is not our dish, so we asked the waiter again what was the dish, he said mongolian again, then we told him we didn't order that, and he asked what we have ordered.
We told them we ordered the chicken in special sauce, you guess what he said, he said, "then this is the chicken with special sauce!", but he just said it is the mongolian chicken! and he refused to check with the kitchen or replace us another one.

Dinner is not worth having. I could have cooked better dishes. I went with 3 friends and we were all disappointed. We could tell that they were using cheap ingredients. At least all of our dishes were filled with rice noodles and onions, even though they were not supposed to be the main ingredients! The flavours did not excite us at all, because they tasted like normal home-cooked foods flavoured with some soy sauce and chicken powder.

Yum cha is ok, however, long waits between dishes and very poor variety of foods offered. We were offered the same plate of chicken wings 4 times. If I didn't want them the first time I certainly didn't want them when they were 20 minutes old!
Extremely rude staff and poor table service.

The worst meal I have ever had. The beef in the the Beer and Garlic Sauce dish was so chewy and veiny I couldn't eat it. The sauce was also terrible, it was thick and gooey. The Beef Fried Rice was pretty much the same with a flavourless sauce.
