A clean, modern restaurant space, delightful and professional staff. Exceptional food with some really traditional flavours and textures, and a Thai 'degustation'. Simply the best Thai cuisine in Canberra.

Went here last night for dinner with another couple, a small place with a relaxed atmosphere, full when we arrived at 7.30pm on a Saturday night, A quick scan of the other patrons, and everyone seemed to have a smile on their faces.
In a nutshell, the food was Great, portion sizes were generous, and great value for money - BYO wine and beer ($1 corkage) makes a very affordable evening. Plus, ample free parking at the Florey shops is an added bonus. My husband and I always half half our food, to share, so we get more of a taste. We had the cauliflower and the prawns to start, both delish, but my favourite was the cauliflower. Our friends had the prawns and the soft shell crab (which was huge!). Both enjoyed the starters very much.
Mains arrived after a short rest, The John Dory for me (Divine) and the duck for my husband, again, both very generous portions. Our friends had the duck and the chicken, which they also enjoyed very much. The duck was nicely cooked, but a bit sweet for my liking (the lychees were too much for me but my husband loved it) the John Dory was perfectly cooked (crunchy skin on the outside, beautifully cooked fresh on the inside) with a gorgeous red curry sauce.
A complimentary lychee sorbet after the mains was a nice touch. We chose not to have dessert, as we were all pretty full. And at $90 per couple ($45 per head) Fantastic value for money. I will be back here for sure. The only thing which would enhance the experience is to have the dishes more set up to share. I much prefer to share dishes to get a taste of everything, than have one dish to yourself, but having said that, I was reluctant to pass the John Dory over to my husband! I would have been more than happy not to share that!
Thanks Morks for a lovely dinner. See you again soon.

Agree with everything Jeremy W. said. Morks has some of the best food I've had, anywhere, in Canberra. The value isn't there compared to Sydney but, hey, it's Canberra. The $65 degustation is sensational and actually is good value. Flavours are amazing. The pork belly is fantastic! (Cost around $25). Haven't tried takeaway yet.
If you're in Canberra, this place is worth travelling to. Book ahead for weekends.

A suburban tragedy, this magnificent eatery is located across the laneway from Dominos in Florey but don't let that put you off! The owners, who had established an excellent reputation with a former Thai restaurant in Yarralumla, decided to move to smaller premises that could be managed by the family.
The food, described as modern Thai, is always a delight, and particularly impressive in the presentation. It doesn't only taste good, but it is a delight to see it on the plate. The menu is not huge, but it is varied and has evolved a little over the time they have been open.
It is interesting to note that their takeaway menu differs from the restaurant menu. similar tastes, though. Takeaway also comes in its own 'Morks' bag. A lovely touch from the friendly folk who run this place.
I'm glad to say that weekend nights you'd better book ahead, which should mean that they are surviving, and I'll be able to enjoy their cuisine for a while into the future.
I never give a 10 on principle, but I score Mork's highly on all but the ambience and it's only the bright lights of Dominos seen through the window that makes me mark this area down.

Excellent food, very friendly and attentive service. Highly recommended if you require gluten-free dining. Easily the best Thai I've had in Canberra.
