Restaurant looked beautiful but the food was horrible. Possibly the worst restaurant food that I have ever had. What made it worse was the seagull waiters. As soon as it looked as if we were done, plates gone, bill presented. I would have liked to ask for my money back but didn't want to make a scene. Even tried to charge us for an extra corkage! Charged for two bottles when we only had one. Avoid this restaurant at all costs!

Just too many things went wrong for our table. The wait, the mistakes, the lukewarm coffee, errors on the bill. I had a funky flavour in the seafood lasagne too.

Food was fantastic but very very slow. Should hire more staff during busy periods, we found it very hard to get anyone to our table. They offered us free drinks when they messed up our orders, however, they messed it up again. two times? that can't be right. Kitchen staff, I presume, is blind.

I normally love Italian food, but I found myself without my appetite once the entree came out. It was wrong somehow and had a taste of fish that didn't suit it.
The appearence is okay to start with but the brightness of the decor can be glarey and some of the upholstery needs mending.
The bigger stumbling block was the price. I found it a bit rich to be paying money that would normally suggest that good care has been taken to ensure basic things are done well.

L'unico is a bit disappointing. I booked here on their promise of a fine dining experience. I would have been happy with decent and professional. It was neither.
The place does catch your attention at first, but I think that the focus is just on getting you through the door, with little to offer once you decide to eat.
We tried a few things which sounded to go beyond the usual offerings, but they came out all too usual and I'd have to say that it tasted of a packet mix which didn't impress me. If they can't produce good food, then they should at least halve their prices so you don't feel so ripped off. I'm heading up the road next time, so should you.

I've been a Kingston local for years and have been to the various incarnations of l'unico a couple of times (Zefarelli's, Cipriani) following the promise that things had changed for the better. There are so many good eateries around Canberra, Kingston especially, that there is no need to suffer the inabilities, inhospitalities or indigestion of a place like l’unico. They persist in offering a hype-filled menu, provided by indignant staff and backed by a kitchen which uses poor standard ingredients and overpowering sauces.
The most recent and definitely the last time I was there, I ordered drinks for the table and when they took over 30 minutes to come, I reminded the staff and they took this as an excuse to insult us while they thought we were out of ear shot. I tried to ignore this through the evening, but when our food was served, it came with an offensive attitude that couldn’t be ignored. I wanted to finish the meal quickly and just get out of there, but with the horrible offerings on the plates, we all left over half of the meal uneaten, paid the surprisingly large bill and left. I should have known better, and I hope that you can benefit from my mistake in coming here again.

Over priced and overrated describes this restaurant! Food is completely average and expensive for the quality and size of the meal. After bruschetta and a main each we went home hungry! And to top it all off they tried to charge us $54 for a bottle of wine which was actually $42 on the menu! And no apology was made when the 'oversight' was identified to the waiting staff. Disgraceful service and overpriced food, sad night out in Kingston which has so much more to offer.

Readers, "cycladelec" has no idea, I've been coming here for almost a year now, every time the food has been fantastic, service friendly and welcoming no matter how busy it seemed they were at the time. The new menu I think brings even better value for money, (most items are appx. 5-10 dollars less now) as the food has seemingly lost none of it's quality. The pizzas have always been a favorite of mine here and this still continues. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone keen on italian cuisine.

Lunico came highly recommended, but that is not echoed. Food was missing ingredients ie chilli on the pizza and salt and garlic and what could be recognised as spinach on the pasta, what was on there was certainly not fresh. Service was better than most places. Interior presentation was great. But food, main menu, dessert menu, web menu and bill did not match. Some concern shown by staff, senior staff unapologetic and far from 'attentive'.
