I used to be a big fan of this place, but the last few visits in the last couple of years have been less than satisfactory. On the last visit, and it will definitely be the last.
The service was absolutely disappointing, the bread order took over 50 minutes, when finally arrived the order was wrong and it arrived with the main meal, we had to ask for wine glasses, an ice bucket and even serviettes! The last straw was when the obviously untrained and very rude waitress came and took the parmesan cheese from our table to give to someone else without even asking if we had finished with it!
I used to be happy taking interstate guests to La Dolce Vita, but never again, you would think they would pick up their game especially when this type of business would be struggling to keep customers in this ecconomic climate!

This was my second visit and most definitely my last. On the first occasion in April 2011 I ordered the ricotta and spinach ravioli with tomato sauce. The ravioli was undercooked, the filling cheesy and very very Salty (I had to drink the whole bottle of table water). I gave this restaurant the benefit of the doubt so on the second occasion I ordered the eye fillet cognac. It was the most Disgusting food I have ever been served.
The menu stated the sauce was brandy and cream, well let me say that I know my food (and ingredients) well and the sauce was made with Custard. It was revolting. Custard sauce on eye fillet! The single potato was hardly warm and the salad a waste of time. My friend ordered the seafood risotto which was inedible. The dish was very very Salty and the calamari soo tough you needed a serrated knife to cut.
Both meals on this occasion were not able to be eaten. We left our meals and will never return to this restaurant. I hope the restaurant reads this review and takes some note. Whoever is cooking in that kitchen needs to stop using so much salt and get some cooking lessons. Disgusting.
