This is my first review, I've chosen Kismet because it's my favourite Turkish place in Canberra (so far).

Why I rated as I did: Food: I've marked this down a fraction because of the limited choice. The food I've had here is at least as good as other Turkish restaurants. It's a small place, with essentially no indoor seating (for a group) and I presume the kitchen/storage areas are also restricted for size, this is probably the reason for a small (but tasty) menu. The potato salad and mushrooms are very nice!

Ambience: As I mentioned earlier, the place is just too small. The outdoor seating is nice, but if the weather is too hot, or too cold (all too frequent in Canberra) you really must be prepared. If they could retain the pricing and move into slightly larger premises, we'd all be better for it.

Service: No complaints, always polite and friendly, reasonably quick. Value: For Manuka, exceptional. For Turkish, excellent. Fantastic value.

I highly recommend Kismet for lunch. Dinner depends too much on the weather, but the food is always excellent.

Compared to several other well known Turkish Restaurants in both Melbourne and Canberra, Kismet tops the list in both value for money and quality cuisine combined with excellent friendly service. Kebabs, wraps, salads, other Turkish delicacies and coffee too. We wouldn't go anywhere else. Rather than a restaurant environment, I would call it a casual, eat in or out venue. Great outdoors on a summer evening.
