This place reminds me of the ubiquitous Chinese restaurants of the late 80s, early 90s. With the food and decor to match. Chicken w/ Vietnamese mint was that shiny, slimy chicken of old-school Chinese restaurants, w/ a whole chopped onion in big pieces, some iceberg lettuce and a hint of Vietnamese mint.
The fresh spring rolls are served w/ an awful satay sauce (satay sauce w/ spring rolls?). We didn't get to try the satay sticks as the waitress thought we ordered a satay dish. As we got up to pay the bill she presented this meal to us and told us that we had ordered it. It's not often I can't eat a dish but this was the ultimate throwback to the 80s, same slimy chicken, an onion, but this time, a 'satay sauce', which consisted of curry paste and some other unknown ingredients.
All this for $40. Just terrible. Forget it.

Firstly mici80, (review below) the Khin Do and the one in Griffith you mentioned are run by the same people! You have to admit the food is great at Khin Do, we don't even look at the menu the owner just brings out dishes of wonderful tasty Vietnamese dishes. We have followed him from when he was at OÇonner, then Civic and now here. The premises do need a lick of paint and re-decoration and as they are would normally put me off a restaurant but the food makes it a happy and satisfying eat-in experience.

Great food, terrible service. Was impossible to order pork and prawn salad over the phone (for takeaway) as the guy had no clue what I was saying. I thought it mustn't be on the menu, but then went in and it was! Ordered spring rolls that never arrived but were on the bill. This place used to be good. Not sure what happened. However, if you carefully watch your bill and make sure you get everything you ordered, and don't order over the phone (you need to point on the menu otherwise they don't understand), then this place is ok. I would go to Griffith for good vietnamese.
