I got taken here as part of a surprise and it proved to be a wonderful night filled with old friends and great food. My partner had kept secret that our friends from Berlin were in Canberra and we all met at Figaro. The staff there set us a table that we could laugh and chat at without being disturbed too much and really helped in letting the 5 of us catch up.

The entrees we got were so tasty and moorish. And the mains were as good. My veal & herb dish was succulent & delicious. I loved being able to relax with dear friends here and Figaro made a good impression on Helga & Alek too.

I love coming here and can't rave enough about the pizzas. They have a new gelati recipe that is really nice and mine were velvety smooth. I take my friends and are always happy. The prices haven't changed much in years, so they still offer great value. And the lady running it treats me as a regular - really friendly and genuine.

The last time I was here, I was attending the National Gallery. I loved it so as soon as I new I was coming back to Canberra, I booked straight away.
I booked for early in the evening so my friends could get an early start the nexy day, but we had such a great time that we ended staying until 10. A great conversation was enhanced by so much terrific food and a couple of bottles of wine that were delicious.

I get takeaway from Figaro most weeks when I don't have the chance to cook or go out and take my time. The food is great and keeps me coming back. Last weekend, I took my uncle here while he was in town and it was a great night. We chatted for ages while the staff took care of us, brought us plate after plate of amazing food. What a great way to reacquaint with friends! The tiramisu was a very high note to end our night on.

I have just had one of the most oily pizza's ever. It was $27- (takeaway)and the ingredients were scantily tossed on one side of the pizza. It also tasted and looked like they used cheddar cheese and not mozza as on the menu. May have explained the oil ! The waiting staff seemed unsure of what to do (except for the girl)and one fellow was dressed in jeans and white tshirt. It appeared a little crammed as well and I wouldn't go there for a romantic or intimate dinner.

My wife and I came here from Sydney as the reviews were very good. It would seem that the reviews are not very accurate. The food was below average and the service terrible (the service should be better considering it is such a small place). We waited for over an hour for our mains which were again, below average. The place is very dark and dingy and needs a good renovation. Won't be coming back here, there are many other places in the area. Pick up your game guys.

I love this restaurant - the servings are very decent, but also of really good quality. You certainly would not go hungry. I usually order the veal tartufo nero - it's quite rich, but the veal is tender and the truffles are heavenly. The wait staff don't really seem to know what they are doing, but they are generally very pleasant. Getting the early bird special makes for an affordable night out with some really lovely food.

I love this place! Book though, I have seen people turned away, as it is a relatively small restaurant. Great food at awesome prises. Sizes are great, we can never fit in desert. The wait staff are so lovely. And if you order before 7 (I think it is) you get 25% of the bill! For entree (shared) two huge mains (one pasta and one steak) and a wine each, we paid less than $70! Thats unheard of in Sydney. And the don't compromise on the flavour.
The specials board doesn't change much, but I still have a tough time choosing everytime.

I love the truffle fettucini, and my partner always get the steak (but the one on the special board, with the masala sauce was quite strong, so he went with the steak and prawns the next time). Ooooh, and if your on a first date or other uncomfortable occaision, book the 'fish tank table'! We had our work christmas dinner here, and it was great, this little fish just kept on kissing the glass it was hilarious. Also, for a table of ten of us, they were very organised.

Slow service! I must agree with one of the reviews below, in that the food was good, but the service was painfully slow.

Figargo advertise an early bird discount if you are out the door before a certain time, but it would seem like they slow things down on purpose so they don't have to give up the discount.

I would not like to be there when the restaurant was jammed packed as I can imagine the service would be even slower. Will not be coming back next time.

Came in with my brother from Perth and his family after hearing off friends that the meals are the real McKoy, authentic Italian style cooking. I had the Prawns Napoli for Entree and the Filleto Medici (Scotch Fillet with sea food)....Mate, I licked that plate clean! The service was good and we got the Early Bird Special to boot. Great meal and great value!. I'll be back, for sure!
