Had dinner here the other night with 3 others. Bar service was okay...just. Drinks were a bit pricey and I didn't appreciate being asked by someone 30 years younger than me if I was driving when I ordered my third drink (my husband dropped me off and picked me up for those that are wondering).

Bistro service was good, the woman taking the orders was very busy, yet she kept her cool and was friendly and helpful. The wait for dinner was a little long, but as we had 2 servings of the mixed bread, we weren't starving. We were all very happy with our main meals. Everything cooked to perfection, vegies nice and crisp (not soggy at all), chicken just right, sauces very yummy.

I would recommend El Dorado's for casual dining, nothing flash, but the food is good value for money.

Made the mistake of eating here on 5/8/11. $11 for a standard beer and lemon/lime/spirits plus you have to go to the bar and order. We ordered steaks at $38 each and after 3/4 of an hour I had to go to the counter (there are no waitresses/waiters you order your own meal like a bistro) and asked where our meals were because we had been waiting 1/2 and hour and got someone who said 'no you haven't been waiting an hour its only 3/4 hour' even though I said half an hour. At that point said if I don't get the meals in 5 mins we want refund. Steaks then arrived after about 8mins and they were very average. A rip off, poor service, average meals, crap ambience.

Terrible!!! first off they didn't have the ingredients for most of the cocktails. The place was noisy and dirty looking. The food was very unimpressive, you would think a steak house would do good steaks, No! tough, over cooked and under seasoned (we did have one guy in our group succeed in the 1kg challenge but said he only did it to get on the board, not because it tasted good). The seafood basket was just deep fried mush. Have given this place too many chances.
