In additional to normal Thai food you can find from other restaurants in the city, please ask the capable chef to prepare something out of the ordinary. I believe he is a duck specialist, both for the curry and noodle soup. His deep fried perch with spicy three-flavoured sauce was also exceptional.

I'm not sure why there are so many bad reviews! Since I moved here from sydney in 2010 I have never had a bad experience! The food has always been excellent and the service is very welcoming and genuine.

Extremely ordinary Thai food. Pad Thai basically noodles stir-fried with tomato sauce, blearrrgh. There are so many other great places in Dickson, don't bother with this.

Fantastic laksa. Best in Canberra and indeed better than anything in Sydney too. We also appreciate the half-size laksa which is great for a lunch-sized meal. To be honest we've never got past the laksa so can't say much about the rest of the menu. The place is always busy, service is quick if not particularly friendly.

Came here for dinner on Good Friday on the basis of good reviews here and a recommendation. The food was great - authentic, tasty and portions a good size. It was a quiet night (only 4 tables) but the service was disappointingly slow as the wait staff had little to do and spent their time chatting behind the counter.

I'd been looking for a good Thai place in Gungahlin since my favourite one closed down. This is it!
The food is good, tasty and with just the right amount of heat. I particularly love their coconut rice, which makes the coconut-based curries even more yummy! Staff always friendly and smiling. This place is a regular for me.

Wow, I'm amazed at all the good reviews on here. I came by recommendation from eatability, expecting big things. It was very average thai, and doesn't compare with others in Canberra. What's worse was the service. The girl that served me (takeaway) barely looked at me, and refused to crack a smile. I won't be going here again.

Under new management I think. Great food and service. Really enjoyed the fish dishes and the larb. Try the coconut drink too. Kid friendly, there's a kids' menu.

My partner and I tried the Gungahlin Thai Kitchen on a Monday night at about 8pm. We usually frequent another Thai restaurant not far away, however, as it is closed on a Monday we decided to give this place a try instead.
Although a little more casual than we are used to (by Thai restaurant standards), this place really was enjoyable. The friendly waitress was on the ball at all times, quick to provide us with ice cold wine glasses for our BYO white wine, had a bottle of water on our table and was ready to take our order as soon as we looked comfortable.
The food was fresh and out in a flash, beautifully cooked and really moorish! The restaurant closes at 9pm, however, the Chef and her staff were more than happy to cook us another dish at 8:50pm and let us sit in longer to enjoy it.
Gungahlin Thai Kitchen is quite a 'laid back' sort of feel, with crisp and simple decor and easy listening, modern music playing at an enjoyable volume. The food is fantastic in its flavor, and quick to hit the table. We can highly recommend the Chicken Chilly Basil, a simple Thai dish but the best we have had in a long time. Highly recommended!

I live 100m away from this restaurant. Tried it a long time ago and found the food was great but the service terrible. Never went again until today. It's under new management but with the same chef. What a difference!
The service was very friendly and top class and the food was still fantastic. This is the freshest, most flavoursome Thai I've personally had. I would recommend it to everyone now. And what a great location too. The new owners also open for lunch - I think Thurs to Sun.
For everyone who had a bad experience in the past try it again and for those that haven't tried it yet, give it a go you're in for a pleasant surprise. Oh and there's a great antiques store next door just opened now too, just thought I'd throw that in.

I have recently returned from Thailand and I can honestly say that Thai Station was so much better than almost all the Thai food I ate in country. The restaurant may look a bit basic but don't let it fool you. The staff were just lovely with a lady who I think is the owner personally bringing us our meals, and great prices. I only went for 1st time last night and I already can't wait to go back. Highly recommend!

Went here last night for dinner with another couple, a small place with a relaxed atmosphere, full when we arrived at 7.30pm on a Saturday night, A quick scan of the other patrons, and everyone seemed to have a smile on their faces.
In a nutshell, the food was Great, portion sizes were generous, and great value for money - BYO wine and beer ($1 corkage) makes a very affordable evening. Plus, ample free parking at the Florey shops is an added bonus. My husband and I always half half our food, to share, so we get more of a taste. We had the cauliflower and the prawns to start, both delish, but my favourite was the cauliflower. Our friends had the prawns and the soft shell crab (which was huge!). Both enjoyed the starters very much.
Mains arrived after a short rest, The John Dory for me (Divine) and the duck for my husband, again, both very generous portions. Our friends had the duck and the chicken, which they also enjoyed very much. The duck was nicely cooked, but a bit sweet for my liking (the lychees were too much for me but my husband loved it) the John Dory was perfectly cooked (crunchy skin on the outside, beautifully cooked fresh on the inside) with a gorgeous red curry sauce.
A complimentary lychee sorbet after the mains was a nice touch. We chose not to have dessert, as we were all pretty full. And at $90 per couple ($45 per head) Fantastic value for money. I will be back here for sure. The only thing which would enhance the experience is to have the dishes more set up to share. I much prefer to share dishes to get a taste of everything, than have one dish to yourself, but having said that, I was reluctant to pass the John Dory over to my husband! I would have been more than happy not to share that!
Thanks Morks for a lovely dinner. See you again soon.

Had dinner at this restaurant last night with my family and we all enjoy it very much, kids had satay chicken and fried rice, we had coconut prawns and peking duck pancakes for entrees and paat thai and scallops.
Food is great, service is as good as any other similar priced restaurant. Certainly the best thai in the area. Will be back.
