Lovely food but very small portions. Friendly and helpful service. Great location for us but we won't be going again unless they increase their portion sizes.

We have been eating at Chairman and Yip for 15 years. In that time I have never had a disappointing meal or evening. Albert is an impeccable host. I love the Chilli Wontons, Shantung Lamb and the Beef and Scallop Hot Pot. We will keep returning for a great evening out!

The quirky decoration was different and promised a relaxed atmosphere, however, that was not the case. The atmosphere was strained thanks to the rude and unfriendly wait staff. We had a booking for our significantly sized group, however, were told on arrival that we were under an hour time limit (This was not mentioned when we booked weeks in advance).

The food was prompt to arrive and portion size was decent, however, it lacked seasoning. The crockery was chipped badly. The coffee was luke warm and so milky that you could not taste the actual coffee. What was meant to be a lovely farewell was totally ruined by hostile staff and a rushed meal. I can not think of one thing good enough about our experience at this cafe that would redeem it enough to recommend it to anyone.

Not a pleasant experience! Service very poor! Waiter gave rude attitude all night. Should have walked out 2 minutes after being seated. 'Special "crying duck"' not so special. Like salt and pepper squid although not enough to go back.

I paid just under $15 for 2 rice rolls (served cold from the fridge and therefore tasteless) and 3 small and rather dull chicken gyoza. Perhaps, huge bowls of noodles in soup is the way to go but I shall give it a miss. Service was non-existent, had to ask for chop sticks, there were no napkins and/or cutlery on the table and I was not offered water.

The quirky decor of this place was refreshing and can't think of another place in Canberra with the same feel. The menu is interesting, not your standard boring bacon-and-eggs style breakky. However, the coffee was lukewarm and reasonably expensive, and there's only one size (no mugs).

Breakky was quite good, but let down by the cold centers of my rice and lentil cakes. We were there reasonably early, but the service was slow for the number of tables, was fortunate we didn't want another coffee, because the waitress didn't come near us again after our breakfast arrived. Also got a bit cramped as more diners arrived, not a fan of other people's bottoms in my face as they squeeze past to their table.

If you want a quirky atmosphere, don't mind being close to other diners and you have time to spare, this place is worth a look.
