This place is consistently good. Outside is great on a sunny day. The fish and chips is the best in Canberra and the lamb meatballs are delicious. Service is always fast and friendly, value is also good. About 100 dollars for three, including wine. If only they could get rid of the magpies though - they're fairly aggressive!

When we visit Canberra we always try to have at least one lunch here. It has never let us down, the food is fantastic, creative, full of flavour, lovely to look at. Outdoors on a good day is great, but inside is fine, under those beautiful stained glass windows. The local Canberra wines are also very good. It is a wonderful place to bring interstate or overseas visitors too.

The food is always good at Bookplate, whether it be from the counter or the menu. This is one of the few places where I feel my child gets to eat like my equal - I think it is the set-up of the tables in the restaurant and in the cafe, and the way the staff treat her. Will try the tables on the verandah.

I love this place, always above standard, great outside seating and view only down fall you have to line up to order.

Great food, possibly the best muffins in Canberra. If you can grab a seat outside for lunch. Inside the building though there's free wifi care of the National Library and comfy chairs. It's a very mixed crowd, and the coffee is only ok but they have a good range of drinks and are open well after many cafes this side of the House have closed for the day.
