Deservedly the best restaurant in Canberra. I have been dining here once or twice a year for several years now and although it has become more casual lately the food and service is still the best.

Really enjoyed my visit. Food was very good, ambience excellent. Service was attentive except as we left - no thank you for coming or the like? It left me feeling cold on a cold Canberra night. However, I will return.

A fantastic night. My friend and I went for a mid week meal as she was in town for work. The service was excellent, as was the wine list. Serves are generous, particularly when you share the amazing beef for two. Will be going again soon.

I quite enjoyed the meal. At a table of 4, it felt somewhat crowded, with plates, wine glasses, water glasses etc. The food was good, interesting and something more creative than the usual Canberra fare.

Aubergine has great food and a great fixed price menu. The wait service is good, however, the times spent waiting for meals is appalling. We had 40 minutes between entree and main, and after a mild query the senior staff avoided our table. Bit disappointing for a $400 meal for three.

Will definitely not be returning after being treated to supremely poor service with terrible, condescending attitudes. To make things worse, throughout our meal, we were literally bombarded with numerous flies that would drop dead midflight onto our table. I was even forced to sweep one off the table with the end of my knife. The food was reasonable but that doesn't make up for the many other failings in this restaurant.

Very nice food and atmosphere, its just a shame the waiter service lets the place down, though the poor service is on par with most other restaurants unfortunately. Owners should really invest in some training for wait staff because it can destroy an otherwise perfect meal.

The chef bought this place, keeping the name and updating the room. The menu has greatly benefited by this change. While some of the language used on the menu could be simpler (just call the potato and leek soup as it is, not something complicatedly erroneous in French), the food simply stands out.

A great place for a special night out, with a nice wine list to match the food. A couple of specials, I'm hoping the menu continues to evolve with in season specialities from the local area.
