Overview of Wray Organic

Wray Organic Market & Cafe has been open since May 2007 serving breakfast and lunches 7 days a week. Covering Gluten Free, Vegan, Vegetarian and all things Organic, they are open from 8am every morning. A brilliant organic fruit and veg market and grocery store is attached to the café so once you have had a bite to eat you can do the weekly shopping. They are not licensed but make up for it by way of range of food on offer. Organic DeBella Coffee is served until 5pm daily.

Recently I wandered from my usual stomping ground in West End/Highgate hill to meet a friend in Newmarket.

After I stopped in at Wray Organic. Certainly the baristaship was not on par with somewhere like the West End coffee house. They did not know much about the brew or the beans, but it was nevertheless a fairly decent cup.

The food, though, left much to be desired. I'm guessing the poor staff are probably overworked and under paid (as is the case with hospitality everywhere). They are obviously not selling cafe food made from ingredients of the same quality for sale in store. It was stale and overpriced.

I was impress with the general range of goods in store. It is possible to make a real break from the standard supermarket experience here, but it is bloody expensive. Only the rich and trendy need apply.

Thank goodness for Wray Organic at newmarket! This is my absolute favourite store...ever! I can get everything I love to eat here (I'm gluten intolerant) and the friendly staff are always very helpful when I am looking for something. The coffee they serve is the best I have tasted in bris-vegas and their gluten free patties are to die for (and incredibly cheap!). I have been shopping here for nearly two years now and the food is such good quality, so cheap and such a huge range that to be honest, I have not had to visit a supermarket in a long time, nor do I miss supermarket shopping.

The vibe in the store is always upbeat when i go in there and the positive staff really do rub off on you. I always leave with a smile on my face. Love it and do not know what i would ever do without my fav local. My tip is to make sure you try their tamari almonds that they sell in bulk - they rock!

I've been an on-and-off customer of Wray Organic for a while before discovering this website. To be honest I find the cafe a little disappointing, but I do appreciate the range of products and produce in store. The staff are friendly and the place is a dream for people with special dietary requirements (vegan, gluten free, intolerances, etc).

Unfortunately, there is no value for money, you'll pay through the nose for almost anything you buy here. I'm also quite disappointed that they have taken the moral high road with all things organic (as most organic sales people do). I am an environmental scientist with a background in health and I can tell you that most of what they tell you about the benefits of organic food is simply not true. There are many great reasons for buying organic, however very few of them have anything to do with human health. If they are so concerned with health then why do they stock so many cakes, sugar rich and high-fat snacks?

The staff here are so unfriendly, as if working in a organic store makes you better than anyone else. The produce was stale but a great idea.

I have a lot of food allergies and this is one of the only places in Brisbane that I can go to without having a problem. The customer service here is also terrific!
