Overall a positive experience here. I made a booking for a large(ish) group for brunch on a public holiday. The staff members who I spoke when making the booking were friendly and helpful. It was very busy on the day of our booking but the two staff members taking care of our table were service orientated, and though busy they took our orders at just about the same time as we were ready to place them.
The time between placing our order and receiving our meals was a little long, but I didn't really notice the delay because we were a group with lots to talk about. Our meals were tasty, though on the small side. The food was fresh and I should mention at this point that the coffee was very, very good. A little expensive but a nice place to brunch.

We stopped in for a simple, quick lunch and a few drinks. Food was decent, and an effort to be different had obviously been made, which we appreciated. However, the service was very poor, distracted and more interested in wiping tables (this was Friday about 1 pm) than serving us. On a hot day, our tap water arrived sans ice, and in the end we gave up ordering a coffee to finish. Incidentally, a toasted sandwich here cost $10.95, not really good value in anyone's sense.

We first stumbled upon this little gem on a Sunday morning, and it was absolutely packed. A very nice waiter met us at the door and explained that Saturdays and Sundays are usually full with bookings, but after a little wait managed to squeeze us in. I ordered an omelette, which took a little longer to come out, but it was amazing! Big enough that I didn't need to have lunch.
We will definitely be booking breakfast a this wonderful little cafe in the very near future!

I am constantly amazed at how busy this cafe always is with the level of service that is offered. My partner and I have been there twice for brunch and both times the service has been absolutely appalling. The last time we went (and I mean the last time!) we were seated outside and it took over 15 minutes just to get a menu then it took over 40 minutes for them to come back and take our order and we still hadn't been asked if we wanted coffee or water!
When we finally ordered the people sitting next to us ordered at the same time. We waited well over an hour to get our food, meanwhile the couple sitting next to us had eaten, paid and left! Our food finally arrived after I had twice asked the staff where our breakfast was and how long would it take because it was getting a little ridiculous by this stage.
Our breakfast finally arrived and no apology for delay, no reason behind why the couple next to us had eaten and gone before we even got our breakfast. I can see why people would come back if the food was exceptional but it isn't, it is just average. I am honestly baffled why this place is always so busy, the food is average and the service is just appalling!
Customers deserve better and people should vote with their feet and Not eat there! I live very very close and had hoped it would be our place to go for brunches on the weekend but I honestly will Never go there again, don't care how close it is.

Had one of their all day breakfasts. The price was very reasonable, according to the sign out the front, 6.95 not too bad. I would have to say it was one of the worst breakfasts I've ever had. Now I'm not a snob, I am telling you it was the worst. Yes its a beautiful setting and I've had great meals there before but the lettuce looked as if it was 2 months old, eggs off, bread stale, etc.
The service had alot to be desired for, I understand wait staff have other things on their mind but their priority should always be water and menus as soon as customers arrive. The food was literally thrown infront of me, I had to go to the bar to get cutlery, when I advised the waiter of my disappointment in the meal she simply said "I'm not a chef what am I supposed to do" which rather shocked me.

Walk in on Saturday morning proved to be the best decision of the weekend. We went back on Sunday for breakfast for the brood as well. Outstanding service and scrumptious food. The omelette is truly amazing. Coffees were just right and nothing was too much trouble for the friendly staff who were cruising around making sure that everything was okay.
Can breakfast be done any better than this. A fresh juice offering would probably make it a perfect 10 for me. If you do not want to be disappointed on the weekend, I suggest you book ahead. Definitely on my list of places to revisit next time I am in Brisbane. Southern breakfast venues could learn a lot from this place.
