This restaurant is the most disappointing restaurant that I have been to in years. The pizzas are well below average. They have refined the art of putting little to no toppings on the pizza but charging you top dollar. The pizzas were bland and overpriced not recommended at all.

Recently went to breakfast here and had a lovely meal with delicious Italian sausage. This was the only highlight for this restaurant on that occasion.
Am interested in how the dinner/pizzas are so will have to return in the future.

I totally sympathise with the review I read earlier. The man who was disappointed re his wife's birthday. We went to this restaurant tonight and yes, the service was terrible. We also felt the attitude there was strange, who do these people think they are? It's a dodgy little cafe in the middle of the street? We asked for a table for 3 people as another lady was joining us but running late.

We were basically told we couldn't have a table for three and got crammed into a table for two and told if our friend turned up then they would move us. Foolishly we stayed because we told her where to meet us. We then received a bland (but attractive) pizza with this stupid blunt cutter. They dumped it on the tiny table on a butcher's block which took up half of the tiny table. Our plates wouldn't fit so I had to put my water glass on the floor, Yes, on the floor.

Our friend arrived and was not offered dinner and made to stand while they argued about whether they could find her a chair (despite me telling them she was due to arrive). I gave her my chair and they grudging got me another. We then asked for a dessert menu for all three of us and like the other man who did a review, we also got a running list of items in a cabinet we couldn't see. The noise in the cramped stingy table area was so loud we couldn't hear the desserts so we bailed. I complained but the senior staff couldn't care less.

(We moved to a lovely little place for dessert on corner of Oxford and Wambool St. It was such a cut above. It was where the Cinema Cafe was, might be still called that. Go there... it's lovely)

Basically, Sugo Mi is a sad attempt to be trendy and the food and service doesn't back it up. Don't waste your money or time there. The food is pretty but stingy and tasteless.

An absolute disappointment for my wifes birthday dinner! If this restaurant has one the "Best Pizza in Brisbane 2009" the judges must have only had an opportunity to visit this one venue. As a signature dish the pizzas were a real let down. We tried to book but were told that they don't take bookings and when we arrived the restaurant was half empty.

Seated outside the Menus and Wine List were delivered and then the waitress promptly disappeared for half an hour. No offer of water! When she did eventually appear we were expected to place our orders promptly as the kitchen wanted to shut. Still no drinks!

Eventually we got some refreshment and then had the pleasure of watching the resaurant being packed up around us. Chairs were stacked and tables moved around us even before our meal had arrived.

When the Pizzas were eventually delivered they were cold and undercooked. Presentation on wooden platters with a Pizza Cutter would have been impressive if the cutter was sharp enough to slice through the hard tasteless dough and meagre toppings.

One of party was adventurous to order a pasta dish which arrived sometime after the pizzas but still cold and flavoured with the same blandness of the pizzas. Even the WA fresh truffles were stale. After struggling through the second class mains we decided that a redeeming dessert would be in order.

Requesting a Dessert Menu we were informed that they do not have a menu but a selection of desserts were available from the refrigerated display, but wait, it was totally obscured by tables and chairs that had been packed up by a staff keen to get rid of their patrons.

In the meantime we were informed that if we wanted coffee we would have to order it immediately as they wanted to turn off the espresso machine so that it could be cleaned. This was the last straw and we asked for the check. At this stage the service improved dramatically, the best all night.

Perhaps, I sound aggrieved but you will understand my displeasure when you note that we left this restaurant at 9:30 pm on Thursday night! Much earlier than planned.

I had passed by this restaurant many times and the food looked great so on my last night in Bulimba I decided to go. Mistake. The table water tasted moldy, I asked for more thinking maybe it was the glasses, but the fresh ones tasted the same.

My meal took forever, which given that I was with a toddler, made it seem even longer. And I wasn't told my meal would be late, I just waited and waited. When it finally appeared the waitress mumbled something about an order mix up.

All this would have been bearable if the food was good, and it wasn't. The prosciutto tasted off and overall just wasn't enjoyable, especially since it tasted lukewarm. I had ordered a different pizza to go too (couldn't cancel the order) for my husband and tried it when I got home and am sad to report it was also bad. $45 down the drain.

Myself and a few friends went for dinner here recently, the initial greeting was warm and friendly and within seconds we had a drink in front of us. The meals were outstanding with great service to compliment. The host was good fun and made our night, plus she had some awesome tattoos. Would recommend Sugo Mi to any one who wants a good night out.

We went to check out Sugo Mi after I learned it was the best pizza restaurant in 2009. We arrived on a Wednesday night after 8 pm. I had called 20 minutes earlier and they'd told us they would shut at 9 pm. I found that hard to believe, because the place was pretty much packed around 8:15.

There were a few 4-people tables vacant, but they wouldn't let us sit in them and insisted we wait for a table for two. The waiter assured us they'd have a table for a us very soon. After about 10 minutes' wait (while the bigger tables were still empty) a table for two became empty, and I asked if we could sit there. Then I heard that he's not actually in charge of seating people, some other waiter was.

Nevertheless, we were seated at that table, for about 15 seconds. Then that other waiter, "the one in charge", announced that another couple had been waiting for longer than us. We knew that wasn't true, but obviously no-one had informed this guy that we'd been waiting for quite a while. So we picked up our wine glasses and hopped out and waited some more! The process was extremely un-organised and we felt abandoned.

After a few more minutes we did actually get a table, but no menus. That was fine because we'd had plenty of time to decide what to have while waiting, but presented a different problem, again because of lack of communication amongst staff, no-one knew we hadn't ordered yet, and the one person we did try to make an order with said that he's not in charge of taking orders and took off!

At this point I had lost all hope with the staff. Don't they communicate at all? The only one's interested in us were the mozzies, and there were plenty of those. Beauty of eating al fresco, I guess. Getting to finally ordering our food felt like huge feat! We had 12 oysters for starters and two pizzas, a Termolese and a Prosciutto. Oysters were... meh, 2/5. My prosciutto was delicious, but for $22 I was disappointed on them skimping on the ham. I know it's an expensive ingredient, but that's what I'm paying for, right?

My partner's Termolese was apparently boring with overpowering ham. They pizzas came out sort of lukewarm. That said, my prosciutto pizza was still the best pizza I've had in Brisbane. And would've been over the moon eating it if everything else had worked out. Right before we left a big party of 12 was seated next to us, and I heard the waiter say that they could only order pizzas at this point (after 9 pm) because the kitchen was closing. If it was me, I would've probably taken my party elsewhere at that point.

Overall the experience was more stressful than enjoyable and the bill was close to $90, which felt like a rip-off with the substandard service we'd received. With uncoordinated staff and horrid wine, even the pizzas couldn't save the evening.

This place had the biggest and nicest antipasto I have ever seen and the pizzas were great! We had a great time, good relaxed atmosphere. I loved their beer special, a german wheat beer, real nice!

I ordered the tagliatelle marinara and it was awful, undercooked pasta dumped unceremoniously on a plate and topped with the worst marinara sauce I have ever come across. However, to be fair most people were ordering pizzas and the restaurant was crowded so maybe it's really a pizza joint and you order anything else at your peril.

Straight score of 7 all around here. Not fabulous, not terrible. Passable food, yet my only qualm would be the price of the drinks and food. This place being in Bulimba already comes with a price tag, yet it seriously isn't really worth your bang for your buck.

Usually have some really good specials though, and the rocket salad was the worst I have had of its kind, no dressing, tough rocket and only one bit of parmesan that day, sad to be honest. The pizza I had was the proscuitto pizza and it had an ok taste. Nice and crunchy pizza and the highlight of the place is definitely the garlic pizza...yum.
