We visited here with some friends who are locals. Overall the food was good. I had their whiting with prawn/ginger mousse wrapped in seaweed then done in a tempura batter, this was brilliant and my highlight of the evening. From here it wasn't so good. A few people had lamb shanks they considered them quite tough (they were supposed to be Japanese but adding some seaweed and part of a lotus flower doesn't really make Japanese).

I rarely eat red meat so it was a big thing for me to have a steak. I asked for medium and it was well and truly well done ($33). The chips that were sides were done in oil that was not hot enough and they were saturated still.

The service was very pleasant, however, considering we called ahead for a table of 8 they should have it ready as it took us 25 minutes to get there and there were only 3 other tables with people in the restaurant. We had to go to the fridge to get our wine to top up our glasses.

Prices, I think our friends that took us here were shocked with the prices. They weren't too bad if it was a fine dining restaurant but it didn't quite get there. We also had two children with us and they did special meals for them (fish and chips plus a steak and chips, they were $23 or $26 each, that is really taking you for a ride).

I wouldn't really go back although I wouldn't consider the experience hideous.

I understand that it is a fusion restaurant, however, their combination of flavours seems more haphazard rather than some thought out creative process. The food was generally good, well presented, but just lacking. Esp for the price.

On a service note, we booked early, for two, and they managed to place us on a narrow bench right next to the register. It was so narrow that we couldn't sit facing each other, and so had to sit offset. Add to that they hit my partners head once, and kicked her chair 3 times, we couldn't get out of there sooner. But friends recommend this place no end, so maybe we caught a bad night with a bad menu.

I've eaten here lots of times, and recently it has become even better. Friendly, cheerful, sweet wait staff. Strongly recommended.

Meals were okay, however, exorbitantly priced. Mains were alright. We had the scallop entree ($19), and received 3 thawed scallops, with a very small side salad. We went on Valentine's Day, fully booked, however, service was still good. Overall tasted good, however, we will not be eating there again.
