Having to kill a couple of hours before the next destination we thought a good old pub meal with a beer or two would do the trick. The very leafy courtyard area of this pub trickles down a pathway to a semi neon kind of theme park food outlet.

We didn't go for something too adventurous and stuck with the chicken schnitzel and the seafood basket. Yup it's standard pub fare but I was kidding myself to think any of the ingredients were fresh. Everything is frozen, crumbed within an inch of it's life and deep fried. The seafood basket was atrocious and my partner was fairly happy with the chicken. Even picking off the deep wall of crumbs revealed to me a miniature prawn.

I'll just drink beer next time.

This place is a little hit and miss. We've been 3 times, once had great service, twice had a good meal. On two occasions we waited over half an hour to have our orders taken despite it being quiet. Staff stood around chatting and we had to ask them a few times if we could please order. They took orders of people who had come in after us and as a result we had to wait quite a while for our meal. The last time we were there my fiance's rare steak came out black on the outside and raw to the point of cold in the middle. His father had ordered the same thing and his was fine. The salmon and Fillet Mignon were lovely, as was the ravioli. The lush tropical garden setting is also lovely, sort of an inner city oasis. Overall, might be worth a try at lunch time when the meals are cheap, but not worth going to for a special occasion dinner.

This hotel has great pub food and if you go on a weekend for lunch, when you buy a drink you get your meal cheaper. Great value for money and the beer garden had a great atmosphere with lots of beautiful plants. I will definitely be coming back here for a meal and a few drinks.
