Staying a few days in Brisbane, (up from Sydney) we accidentally discovered Simpatico whilst walking around Paddington and decided to try it for lunch. What a great experience! Would give any of the "darlings" of Sydney's Surry Hills a run for their money.
Food was great and ideal sizes to share. The beef cheek, the scallops and the mushroom risotto were the faves. So good, we returned the next day to savour other temptations from the menu. Staff were well trained and knowledgeable about the food and wines. Well done Simpatico. Good formula. Recommended!

Simpatico is on my "favourites list". The beef cheeks and lamb gnocchi are to die for and the breakfasts are amazing.

The menu was easy to read, the food was amazing, very tasty and fun to share. The staff were great, nothing was a drama. We are going back again soon. Would recommend highly.

A recent move to Brisbane from food mecca Sydney (sorry Melbourne) has had us gagging for some decent food. Simpatico was an early and extremely welcome find, and just down the road! The owner is an experienced restauratuer and it shows - great service, water on table, drinks promptly delivered, and great food.

Standouts dishes are the Pork Belly on Thai-style salad with nam jim sauce, the fish pie with smoked mushrooms is great and (being a dessert fiend) you cannot go past the apple tarte tartin for sweeties (although ask for it with ice cream, as the pastry is buttery enough without having to dollop double cream on top).

The menu is designed to be shared tapas-style, however "she-who-must-be-obeyed" refuses to share and we always end up ordering our own! Highly recommended.

We visited Simpatico in November 2007. There was only 2 of us, so we didn't get to sample a large range of their tapas, about 5 dishes (sorry don't remember exactly which ones we had), but they were all delicious and beautifully presented. The service was excellent, and we would certainly go again.
