After moving to the Redcliffe area from Sydney, we have missed our selection of good cafes terribly.

Admittedly, we must not overlook how fortunate we are. The Penninsula is renowned for its wide selection of 80s style cafeterias, each with a bain marie full of greasy fish and chips, instant coffee and service with a friendly profanity.

However, for those days when you want something just a little more, palatable, the Burnt Orange at Scarborough provides a welcome relief.

We have now dined here for lunch a number of times and tried many of the menu options. So far, we haven't been disappointed. Simple options, such as the baguette with leg ham, swiss cheese, rocket and roma tomatoes was wonderfully fresh on all counts and offers a well refined balance of flavours. The fish of the day is always fresh and prepared with simplicity and respect. There's not a bain marie or greasy chip in sight, I can assure you.

My partner assures me the coffee is excellent and I can vouch for the milk shakes. A selection of fresh juices would be a welcome addition, particularly in the warmer months.

We haven't tried the breakfast yet, but the menu certainly looks worthwhile. The service is always prompt, friendly and personal, and you will always be recognised by Greg if you're a regular.

They are talking about opening into the early evening with a tapas menu and wine selection. This is just what this area needs more of and I am looking forward to experiencing it.

The best seafood we have had for awhile. Drove down from bribie island to try this and were not disappointed.

Great Food, Great Staff, Great Customer Service, Great prices BYO, Sure does beat the others for Quality and Service, the service and the food is always consistent. Never any change.

We just love the food here and eat here once a week, either at the cafe or take away.
