We have recently moved to this area and were looking forward to exploring the cafes along the waterfront. Upon sitting down for breakfast on a weekday morning, we were impressed by the nice water views and peaceful location. What took us by surprise was the way in which we were relentlessly ignored by the waitress. There was only one other couple in the entire cafe, but each step in the normally simple ordering process took forever. We were tempted to leave at each step but hunger, and a lack of other nearby options kept us seated.
My partner was unable to drink her coffee, it tasted like the filter hadn't been cleaned in some time, or, perhaps, it's just an unusual type of coffee. The food was Ok. But to be honest, the entire experience was ruined by the waiting and a general air of incompetence.
No matter how much it cost, this would represent poor value. It is a shame, because in this case looks are deceiving.

We had Sunday breakfast and were sadly disappointed. We waited to be seated but were ignored so we sat down at one of a few uncleared tables in the alfresco area. We nearly got up and walked away but eventually one of the two very young waitresses took our drinks order. She returned to take our food orders before starting to clear our table, which occurred over a few trips in between serving others.
Another couple arrived and cleared their own table. Another couple got up and walked out after not being served at all. In the meantime, the other waitress seemed to be doing very little. My wife’s “half-strength latte” was very strong and she could not drink it even after asking for more milk. My pot of tea never arrived (and luckily I was not charged for it). Our food arrived but we had to ask for the table to first be wiped, which had not yet occurred.
The food was reasonable but the promised asparagus with the eggs Benedict, was missing. When we mentioned this when paying our bill, $1 was deducted. When we mentioned the missing pot of tea, an apology was given and the waitress was blamed. There was an ad on the wall near the cash register advertising for experienced waitstaff. However, we won’t be risking this place again.
