An absolutely lovely evening with great food. Best butter chicken I have ever had. Service excellent. Very attentive but not overbearing. Portions were huge does justifies the Price to be "reasonable". It was nice when the chef himself came out to greet us and ask how our dinner was, If you're looking for a good authentic indian restaurant for a family night out, with good value and good service this is a must.

Both of our (very different) curries tasted exactly the same. That taste was of tomatoes and pretty much nothing else. I didn't think it was possible to get butter chicken wrong, but they managed. I've honestly had better butter chicken from a jar. And for $20 a curry, that's completely unacceptable. We had a 2 for 1 voucher (which they Very begrudgingly accepted) and we were Still unhappy with the price!
The service was hilariously inept. They barely said a word of greeting or thanks upon arriving and leaving. When we went to pay they stared at us expectantly, without saying a word for literally 10 seconds. Time passed. It was awkward.
In short, we've never been to a more hilariously inadequate restaurant. We had been here before under the old management and loved it, and were very disappointed with the new management's...everything. We won't be going back.
Response from Management:
Dear Customer,
I guess you have REVIEWED THE wrong restaurant,
I used to own "Punjabi By Nature International at 102 latrobe Tce Paddington" (old management-Premish) I was the chef as well.
I have sold the restaurant RESTAURANT at Paddington and moved to ASHGROVE, this listing is for Punjabi By Nature Indian restaurant in Ashgrove.
1. Punjabi By Nature Indian Restaurant HAS NO BRANCHES EXCEPT AT 10 STEWART ROAD AT ASHGROVE.
I would say please remove this review as this is not right. as it is NOT THE RESTAURANT YOU HAD FOOD AT.

We had the most delicious Indian meal here. The flavours of the entrees and curries were delicious and the decor beautiful. The range of curries is very different from any we have had in the local area. Prices a little more expensive than other local Indian places but very generous servings.

We went to Punjabi By Nature on a weeknight in a group of 4. The menu was very extensive, it included some dishes that I've never seen at an Indian restaurant before. They had quail, venison and kangaroo on the menu as well as the standard lamb, chicken, beef and vegetarian dishes. Everyone enjoyed the meal. We shared 3 entrees and 3 mains with rice and naan. Although the beef vindaloo wasn't particularly hot, everything was tasty. Blue cheese naan was new to me, but I found it to be nice and not too overpowering.
Overall this restaurant is great value. The service was a little slow but we did tell the waiter at the beginning that we weren't in a hurry. You have to take all your own drinks as it's BYO only, but there is a bottleshop across the road, and $2 per person corkage is good value. Great experience, we'll be going back next time we're in Brisbane.

I took my family and friends to celebrate my 30th at Punjabi By Nature International, Paddington. The food and the service never disappoints and even convinced the sceptical friends. Great selection, great flavours, great everything!

Went to Punjabi for dinner last Saturday having seen it in the (Brisbane News) magazine. I've read a few reviews on here and would like to share my experience. Firstly, place was virtually packed (a positive sign). The service was attentive, orders were taken quickly. Fantastic Food.
Duck Tawa was just the way it had been described in the magazine's review. The service was good throughout, food came out quick, and the staff were friendly and polite. I would definitely return. Love this place!

Don't even bother. I just ordered a take away chicken tikka masala. At 15 dollars a serving, I would expect more than 7 pieces of chicken. I pretty much received a takeaway container full of sauce. Rip off.
Response from Management:
As You said that you got 7 peices of chichen that's approx 350gms of chicken breast. If you needed extra chicken all you had to do is asked I wouldn't have charged you extra. That's our standard serve. "Quality is directly propotional quantity" we try to have a balance.

As a chef searching for a good curry in Australia you can't go wrong with this restaurant. Flavours, tastes and textures all excellent. This is the best place for a curry out of England! Being BYO is also a plus with a bottle shop just across the road in case you forget. Very friendly owner and staff, it's a fantastic night out.
