I was really disappointed with the service last night at Pizeria 1889. The head waitress gave two of the waitresses a dressing-down right near our table. She was having a go at them for not putting cutlery on customers tables and telling them how "Angry!" that made her. She had a point, it was unprofessional, but so is giving the waitresses a serve in front of customers.

Overall the food wasn't great and the service was bad. I won't go there again.

Pizza's are always delicious, have tried some of the pasta dishes as well and these were also good. If you want something a bit different from the usual pizza joint then I'd recommend giving it a try. Pizza toppings include things such as gorgonzola, proscuitto, potato- I did not think they were stingy with topping at all. Also service has always been excellent when I've visited.

Basically this place is a take. Authentic Italian pizza does not equal a bunch of herbs with a thimble of topping on top of a crusty thin base. Pass.

We tried to get two pizzas, a salad and a bottle of red (about $100 of custom) but the waitress just refused to see us to take our order even though there was only us and three young men seated at tables. After she took the orders of the three men who had arrived ten minutes after us, we left and went to Peasant instead - where the service and the food is impeccable. We're never trying 1889 again.
