Oshin Japanese Restaurant is a locally famed Japanese restaurant in Brisbane City; renowned for its fantastic sushi, colourful sashimi, sizzling bbq-style dishes & other traditional meals.
Embark on the ultimate Japanese dining adventure; be entertained by the flamboyance and creative flair of their highly experienced Japanese Chef & staff in traditional costumes, offering impeccable service.
Owners Gary and Stacey Goh have created a tranquil haven with traditional Japanese decor, where diners can enjoy the 'Zen like' ambience. Bamboo clad floors, subdued lamp lighting, bright walls, oriental paper-style partitions and eye-catching memorabilia offer an alluring atmosphere, and meals prepared freshly at your table, are all that separates Oshin from the rest.
Watch the staff preparing Yakiniku; Slices of beef and vegetables cooked barbecue style at your table, served with dipping sauce, rice and miso soup'.
You cannot miss out on their Deluxe Sushi; a delightful array of assorted raw fish sliced on top of rice portion served with miso soup and egg custard.

Tramped the streets of downtown Brisbane trying to find somewhere other than a food court or a pricey place on the waterfront to have dinner with my son and finally stumbled upon Oshin. We had one of the banquet offers which came with assorted starters, tempura, sushi and sashimi, miso soup and rice, and a choice of shabu shabu or sukiyaki. The service was warm and smiling and the food tasty and varied. Would happily go there again.

We eat here often being conveniently situated on adelaide st. The sushi and sashimi is outstanding, service is friendly and attentive and if you're not planning on blowing the budget its nice to your hip pocket too. If you go in on a tuesday or thursday you will catch the freshest sashimi in town. No pun intended!

We found our dining experience at Oshin average. Service was good, except at the end of the meal. We were not offered the dessert menu or asked if there was anything further that we would like. Food was nice but found it overpriced for what we really received. The Yakiniku dish only had 1 very watery mushroom and very few other veggies with an overload of cabbage. The restaurant is in need of a revamp.

Small and friendly upstairs place in the city. Great staff and a good range of traditional Japanese food. They even have draught Japanese beer on tap.

After not being able to get in to the place we originally booked, this was our second choice. I was presently surprised with the quality of the food and the amount that was served for the price range. This is a highly recommended place to eat and I will be returning next time I am in Brisbane.

If you want incredible Japanese food, just head to Oshin. This upstairs restaurant has a relaxed and very pleasant atmosphere, with sushi bar and a partially screened group dining area in addition to the regular floor tables. Large groups don't feel on display, but the lone diner won't feel squeezed out either.
The menu has a huge range of both traditional and adapted Japanese fare, and every time I've been here, it's been very difficult to choose for one sitting only. To get more for your dollar, you can also choose from a range of generous set menus which start from $25 for about six courses. There's a large vegetarian selection, which also makes it a winner - I always enjoy an actual choice when dining out.
The food is fresh, fast and delicious. I'd recommend the aburage tofu to anyone as an entree, and my partner heartily endorses the shabu shabu, which can be cooked at the table for extra enjoyment. Staffs are diligent, but not intrusive in their service, so you won't be flailing around for half an hour just to get a drink refill. Oshin may be pricier than the local Sushi Tram, but your tastebuds will love you for it. Check it out. I can't wait to go back again.
