Let's face it, anyone going to a sushi restaurant for first class service is kidding themselves; this is not the reason I keep going back. The food is some of the best Japanese cuisine I have eaten in this country. Sure, the value for money could be a little better, but a small price to pay for a Japanese meal that's well above average. I would recommend this restaurant in a heart beat.

Our group of six were absolutely appalled by the level of service and time it took for food to arrive on Saturday night. We came at a time when business was slowing for the night, waited almost an hour and a half for our food and left with only appetizers. Considering we had good money we were willing to spend (mind you, $50 alone was spent on appetizers) we would have never expected the experience we received. We did not even get an apology or empathy when we decided to leave.

We got tired of flagging staff for attention, although I must say the tall Asian waiter provided good service and was friendly. We ended up leaving to Goldfish next door and spent $476 on food and drinks. We will not be recommending this place to friends and family.

This place is overrated. Nothing outstanding. Sashimi tasted low quality and sushi at your local sushi train tastes so much better.

The best sushi in Brisbane, perhaps, Spring Hill sushi matches Oishii, but this is one of the best sushi places in Australia. Very tasty and creative, not cheap but well worth the money and not terrible value. So many to try. Very busy, service was prompt but not overly friendly, just did enough to run the crowd.

I agree with the poster below, the portions have definitely cut down in recent months, we go there every week for a work lunch and since about November the sizes have slowly gone down and the price has remained the same. The food is still the best presented of anywhere I have been to recently but it isn't the same value it was. We have also noticed the place half empty every time we have been in the last 4 weeks, was always packed at lunchtime, not sure if the CNY has had anything to do with this though.

Oh My GoD! this is the best sushi place I have ever been too! Ever since I've had sushi here, no where else compares! I have been searching high and low in Sydney and have not found anywhere remotely close to Oishi! Prices are soooooo cheap compared to Sydney! Please open one up in Sydney! I'll become a partnership with the owner if I need to! LoL My Fav dishes was the spider roll and white dragon!

I used to really enjoy going to Oishii Sushi Bar for its good food. However, I have changed my mind since a few recent visits. They have cut down on the portions and yet the prices remain the same. I ordered a Spider Roll expecting to indulge in some soft-shell crab. To my disappointment and horror, for $13, I ate mostly rice, egg, cucumber and a tiny bit of crab. I remembered being able to at least taste the crab last time.

Not to mention we got there early but was refused a table inside when half the restaurant were empty. They were apparently 'reserved' seating. After we finished our food and left, those seats were still empty. Way to go, they've just lost a customer.

With out a doubt the best sushi I have had so far. Got taken here by a customer from work and liked it so much I took the wife there on Sat night for tea, people were lined up from opening and I would recommend booking for Sat nights. It was very busy but the service was first rate, the green tea never ran out and the sushi was great. I would highly recommend the Oishil Maki and the Spider Rolls but it is all great.
