Staying on Gold Coast for a holiday we decided to come up to Brisbane for a dinner. Feeling like Thai we choose here, and what a great dinner it was.
The service was a little slow, but food did come out pretty quick considering how busy they were.
The flavours of the food were really good! Great amount of spice with flavour coming through all 5 dishes we tried. The Panang Curry Chicken was proabably the highlight.
If you want good Thai then give this place a go, and yes book ahead as it gets busy.

Been here a couple of times, and like all others say, it is busy. Every night of the week, which is a good sign of a good place to eat. Food is always good, hot, tasty and full of flavour. We've managed to get through about half the menu now, and are happy with all of it. A regular in our take-aways, make sure you book early if you want to eat in. Great place.

Only discovering My Thai recently, I can pretty much see why is so bloody hard to get a table here. The food is excellent just the way I like it. The waitress was kind enough to bring me some extra chili in fish sauce and corriander to go with my meal. All of the staff were warm and friendly, greeting you with a smile when you arrive and a thank you when you leave. Not many places do that anymore these days, so we'll be back.

The food @ My Thai is delicious and pretty "lean". With pretty lean I mean that the dishes are not "swimming" in oil. Our favourites are the Thai Beef Salad (Aussie Cry), yes, it is hot, the spicy fried rice, the garlic chicken and the spring rolls.
After having dinner @ the restaurant twice, we decided to switch to take-away.
Because of the good value for money and the nice food the place is always packed and very busy. We also found it very noisy, even loud, extremely crowded and way to cold, it feels as the air con is set on 14 degrees...brrrr... if you book a table, make sure you get one in the little outside area, it's way nicer than inside!
We have take-away once a week and have never been disappointed with My Thai.

This is a great Thai restaurant and never had anything but really good food from here. As a good restaurant it does get busy, so book ahead. The decor and ambience of the place is well worth the visit.

We haven't been to dine before as the place is always packed! But if the take away meals are anything to go by they'll be around for a long time. Great value for money for authentic thai.

We recently "dined" at My Thai and it will take some convincing for us to consider returning. The food at My thai is great, however, when we booked we were advised that we had to leave by a certain time for a later sitting. Despite having not finished our meals (we hastily ate as much as we could without choking), we were rudely hussled out. What was to have been a catchup with friends turned out to be a rushed meal and we ended up at another venue to finish our evening. Not a place to relax and enjoy!

We dined at My Thai for so many years now since they were at Baroona road which would make it more than 10 years! God I must sound old! The owner Busara who is a single mother like myself and her two daughters all worked in the restaurant from the start and continue to, till this day! 3 very sweet ladies running a great family restaurant. My Thai is amazingly warm, friendly and lively atmosphere.
Last night we dined at My Thai with some friends and family and had such a great time. We sat out on the timber veranda which proved to be a hit with everybody.
The staff greeted us with a warm Thai smile. All of them were dressed in red and green uniform which dashes of gold, it was out of sight, they all looked so stunning!
To be honest, I was a little worried about getting served as the placed was jumping with people everywhere. But the food came out at a reasonable time, and it was bloody delicious as always. My favourite dish would have to be the My Thai Duck Curry in this thick coconut sauce made with duck breast, pineapple, red grapes and basil. It was divined. We also had a mix entree of lots of little goodies, they were delicious we were so full, perhaps we could of rolled out of there.
Once you discover a place like this, you will continue to keep coming for years to come. A GEM INDEED!

After living in Bangkok for many years and finally moving back to Brisbane I was missing the food quite badly but was so happy to have found My Thai! They have been around for years I found out but I only discovered them a few years ago.
Although the food there is different from what I have tasted in Thailand, after speaking to the lovely owner/head chef, she explained to me that it was her style of Thai food that isn't supposed to replicate the street food in Thailand. Nor will she be serving deep fried grasshoppers as a starter lol. If you like a stronger, hotter flavor just ask for your food to be cooked Thai style, it's simple. I found the flavors to me milder as she has written her recipes to suit the Australian taste buds. And judging by how often the place is packed out, she is doing a great job!
The staff are lovely and helpful. I recommend if you're looking for more of a slow dinner avoid Fridays and saturdays as the place gets so completely booked out that they have and manage to fill their two rounds of seating weekly..
I rather grab a takeaway on the weekend but if you're brave, book ahead and arrive with an empty stomach!

I lived in Thailand for 6 months and truly experienced good Thai food... and this was not it! Although okay, the food was fairly tasteless and we found it not worth the money. We'll be seeking other Thai places in Brisbane!
