Overview of Moti Mahal

Situated in the wilds of suburban Brisbane is this unobtrusive treasure. Eschewing the Australian tradition of Indian food being tasteless coloured slop, Moti Mahal provides food in which you can taste the spices, and each dish has a characteristic flavour. The vegetable bhuna is to die for, and will satisfy even the most ardent meatatarian. Of course, there's a full range of the Indian dishes you'd expect, but at a quality far higher than average.

    I added the listing for this restaurant, as it's our favourite, and although I have no relation to the restauranteurs I have to admit to being a happy customer. I have a number of strict vegetarian friends with whom I often share meals, and I've been amazed by how good the vegetarian dishes are at this restaurant. I usually don't even bother to order meat, though the fish curry I had last time was very good as well. The takeaways are very efficient.

    I've tried every Indian restaurant I can find on the north side, and this one is by far the best. Too many times I've got the same orange chicken tikka masala, and sort of grey korma, and brown lamb roghan josh, and it's generally appallingly bad. Moti Mahal has been an absolute godsend.
