For a nice pub meal, Melbourne hotel ticks all the boxes. Its fancy new age pub deco, sports on the big screen and a nice lunch makes one of my favourite pub meals in Brisbane.

Had dinner there on Jan 9th. I had Veal Pescatore, one of the nicest meals I have ever had. A friend had the steak and said the same, service was great, an all round good night.

We had lunch yesterday for my wife's birthday we were very impressed with your staff and beautiful meals and don't leave out the great job of the Chief the meal topped off a great birthday for my wife family and friends you can be very proud of your staff the best I've have come across in 57 years on this planet. Think international frozen prawns, think raw onion. We started with the bread and dips, one tasted like raw onion, the other pumpkin with all spice and the last chopped raw mushrooms with a hint of garlic. The bread was white lightly toasted.
I had 2 entree and a main, as the main menu was limited. Calamari (perhaps, s&p squid), it was cooked to perfection accompanied by a bland aioli. Deep fried prawns in a triple layer batter with a sweet chilli sauce. Prawn salad with pear with the bland aioli as a dressing.

Friend had the lamb pie, it was a large bowl with pastry on top. Limited wine selection. Lunch from a good food court would have been better. Interior design good in pieces, staff nice but too scared to ask the chefs anything.

Our party of 4 stopped here for lunch one Sunday afternoon. The service was great but there was hardly anyone in the pub so that was probably why. For pub food it's very good, better than we expected. Everyone enjoyed their meal. I had a focaccia with mediterranean vegetables which was delicious. The prices were not as cheap as other places in the area but I would go here again if I was in the area and didn't mind spending a bit extra!

On the 27th Dec 08 I attended a function with friends. The food was of a very poor standard, it was alternating beef and chicken, well it was mainly chicken as they had run out of beef! surprise surprise I was served chicken not sure if I was the only one with the driest piece or not? but I couldn't eat it and when telling the waiter he said sorry and that was the last I saw of him!

I was having lunch at the cafe today (7th Oct) and ordered a Caesar salad which didn't come with a napkin so I went to the counter and asked if I could have some tissue papers. The male cafe staff asked if I meant serviette, to which I replied yes. He grudgingly handed me a few and added "the tissue papers are in the toilet". I was in shock and found this kind of behaviour extremely rude and unacceptable.

Really average meal. I had the Chicken Fettuccine which was bland and tasteless. To drink I had some sort of berry cocktail, too sour and too much ice. The service was SO slow. We got there at 12.30 and didn't leave till 1.45. Well to me, that's a slow lunch. We only had one course, there was three of us. The lighting was quite dark, I can see the mood they're going for, but just a tad too dark. Nice comfy chairs and seating. Overall, very average experience.

Big fan of the Melbourne Monster for breakfast. Great food at great value. Keep up the good work. I see The Melbourne Monster now has its own appreciation society on Facebook.
