We ate here when we were in Brisbane a few weeks ago and I have to say that the food is nice. The chocolate souffle we had for dessert was absolutely delicious. This place is expensive and nice for a special occasion. We found the staff to be very friendly and the service was great. We will definitely eat here on our next visit to Brisbane. The chairs are also very comfortable which is a plus as some restaurants have extremely uncomfortable chairs.

There is one word that comes to my mind when I think of Marco Polo and that is pretentious. Situated on top of the Brisbane Casino I have visited Marco Polo a few times now. When entering the restaurant through its big oversized giant doors it is big, cold and sterile. When eating at a fine dining restaurant the food should not be ok to good it should be fantastic to excellent. You should have enough faith and confidence in the restaurant and its chefs for you to randomly pick a dish off the menu and be satisfied if not blown away by it.

Marco Polo is very inconsistent I have been served the most tender steak than anywhere else in Brisbane but most of the time the food has been very average. And when you serve “ok to good” food but charge “fantastic to excellent” prices and have pretentious staff and surroundings, the words ‘try hard’ come to mind. Unfortunately, after leaving this restaurant I have always felt like I did not get my moneys worth regarding food, quality and overall dining experience and especially when you know what you could get for similar money from a restaurant like Siggi’s I will have to give Marco Polo a big pass.

Disappointing food, cozy place for a few quiet drinks with friends.

To say this restaurant is my favourite would be an understatement. Every time we go there it is simply exceptional. The staff are friendly, the bartender is adventurous, the food is exceptional. I love this place. It is expensive but it is worth every cent just for the experience.
