Don’t do it! Despite the food being lovely, I cannot believe the disgusting service my friends and I received at Libertine. When you’re paying 5 star prices at a restaurant, you expect high quality service right? Well the staff and owner of Libertine disagree. I was shocked and appalled at the attitude and behaviour of the staff and owner at Libertine. We were disappointed that firstly we weren’t told it was a two hour sitting – and why would we expect it when we’d been there before and sat at our table for a good 2.5 hours! On top of that, we were quickly ushered away when our meal wasn’t even finished, a staff member spilt a sauce on my friend’s dress, they didn’t offer dessert or any drinks once we were moved, a waiter slammed the menu’s on our table and kept walking, the bar staff proceeded to bash the crap out of several bags of ice right next to us, and when we expressed our disappointment, the staff grumpily shrugged us off and said “Fine, I’ll get you the bill”. We spoke to the owner who did not apologise, but rather came up with every excuse he could find to basically blame us (the paying customers) for our unsatisfactory evening. In all my life, I have never experienced such terrible management!

Was at this completely awesome restaurant on Sat Night when they turned all the lights off for earth hour and lit the place up with candles. Love the environmental message almost as much as the food. The staff were brilliant. This is fun food in a gorgeous setting, maybe management has changed since last year, my service was that perfect blend of efficiency and friendliness. (Hate a clingy waiter). Well done Libertine!

Wear something very plain or else the staff will never find you in this lush melange, or, perhaps, try standing at the door and flap your arms about madly like I did until the staff member stopped chatting and cleaning her teeth with toothpicks and noticed us.
Once again the owners appear to have paid the designers for the imported wallpapers, and crafted the interior with diligence and money. Employing backpackers was not as smart. My waitress was impossible to understand, and she could not have cared less about that small issue, the food on offer or my service. I went on a good recommendation. The food offered was either typical or just slightly twisted.
The skills in the kitchen were nothing special but if they hadn't paid so much for the designer interior I feel sure they would have been able to afford some value, possibly some charm or even at a stretch some warmth. Its like eating from tupperware in the Vatican. Go if you have a new outfit to show off otherwise there are other great vietnamese restaurants to choose from in Brisbane.

My partner and I went there on a week night. Didn't know anything about this restaurant prior. We didn't have a booking and just walked in, the waiter acted like the place was completely booked out and proceeded to seat us at the end of an empty table which we assumed had been reserved but the table remained empty for the whole time we were there.
A bit of a mystery really! Despite of this we were very pleasantly surprised, the food was sensational, the pork spare ribs were covered in Vietnamese herbs which worked so well with the fatty pork. Also the fish (raw slices, can't remember name) was delicious. I am waiting for another special occasion to go back to this restaurant.

An extremely disappointing experience. Decor and ambience was great when you walk through the door but that's pretty much where the good stuff ends. The menu was poorly explained. The mains was pretty much under the ambiguous "shared food" heading so clarification was sought as there were 7 people in the party. We were told that each mains is meant to be shared between 2 people. So we ordered 3 entrees and 3 mains + rice to share.
The entree was screwed up and we had to wait 40 minutes between then when the entree was cleared and the mains arriving and when it did arrive boy were we majorly disappointed. Each of the mains would be hard pressed to satisfy a child let alone meant to be "shared" between 2 adults. Ordering more food wasn't an option as we weren't prepared to wait another 40 minutes for the food to come out. Maccas on the way home was lot lot more satisfying and better value for money too!

This is possibly the most disappointed restaurant I have been too in a long time. Staff were rude and abrupt, the food was so average I could have done a better job myself with my eyes closed! Don't waste your time on the Pork Belly it was dry greasy and tasteless, for $27 its is an insult. I will not be back ever and will make sure every person I speak to doesn't waste their time either... oh and by the way the menu online is not correct there is no "french" style food at all on the menu!

Bad from the get go. Got the booking numbers wrong (in spite of a telephone call confirming the booking). Had to ask for an extra setting when we arrived. Waitress looked and acted like she had just climbed out of bed. Timing of the entrees was all wrong (half the table got theirs while the other half had to wait another 15 minutes). Serving size of the main courses was extremely small for the price. Don't bother. There are plenty more places to go that are much better value.

Food is incredible as long as one stays away from dessert. Service is always pleasant and certainly eye candylike, but I'm annoyed that each time I've visited, total being four, the bill has been incorrect with extra dishes added on.

The Maitre de here suss'd me out the second I walked through the door. I had made a booking an hour before and when pryed about my reason for coming in she quickly ascertained I was here for a right sticky-beak!
Obviously the jewel in the crown for the new "barracks" development, all the hype, I was hoping, would be justifiable. Can I just say this place by night looks amazing! I haven't seen so much attention to detail, with out looking fussy, in Brisbane, ever.
Our waitress, lovely as she was, was nonetheless vague at best and looking around at the other staff it was clear that looks presided over any real competency. (dropped cutlery, constantly M.I.A. and no culinary knowledge). Wine list was interesting and our Albarino was well priced.
The food was good. Lien's hand was evident and everything from the vietnamese rolls to the duck in a nest to the beef bourginon was delicious and very good value for money with mains starting from only $22. Dessert was a disaster our creme caramel was boringly sweet with no other hint of the promised coconut or ginger and the chilli choc mousse tasted like cookie dough it was that heavy. Will I be back, maybe?
