Les Amis - French for ‘Friends’ - is a new bistro located at Green Square Plaza on St. Paul’s Terrace, Fortitude Valley. It’s a casual, yet smart, French bistro offering a wide selection of gourmet bistro dishes, quick light meals, delicious pastries and baguettes.
Young award winning Chef, Ian Woodcock, heats up the kitchen with delicious French and other European flavours including light, crusty fresh filled baguettes made to order, arrays of terrine and rillettes, golden fluffy sweet and savoury pastries baked daily, sumptuous bistro favourites such as blanquette of veal with fondant potato and baby leeks, bouillabaisse with scallop roe mayonnaise and warm bread, and confit of duck with herb crumb cassoulet.
Ian teams up with Les Amis owner, Joe Sittikarn, to showcase Green Square’s only bistro. Joe believes the area has lacked a venue that offers delicious gourmet meals and light favourites tailored to its residential and business surrounds.
Les Amis is a place for all occasions. Customers are welcome to relax and enjoy an elusive perfect Campos coffee over a breakfast meeting, share a luscious panna chocolate and fresh juice with mum.

This restaurant did not live up to the good reviews, felt the meat was overcooked and the 'french' dishes a sort of brisbane version relying on lots of butter. It was noisy and hard to hear my dinner companion, which was strange because it was not very crowded -- think it has bad acoustics or something. I'd try somewhere else.

Restaurant had good write ups so I was looking forward to a cosy lunch with my wife with good French food. Sadly disappointed with the quality of the food which was very average. The sauces were clumsily made and could have come out of a jar. We lived in France for 3 years so I know what good French food should taste like, but this was definitely not it.

Very nice! A small and friendly place, with excellently attentive staff and fine flavours.
French restaurants outside of France can sometimes be hit-and-miss, but not Les Amis. The restaurant on the night we attended was quiet, affording us a chance to speak a little to the waiter and discuss some of the flavours. With cheerful gusto he presented us with a free sample of black pudding which was much nicer than the stuff my mum used to cremate. Then the entree of snails made an interesting stepping stone to the main course of organic chicken breast and potato puree. Most delicious all-round.
Tired of the same old Asian and Italian restaurants? Give the French a go, you won't regret it.

I have eaten here on several occasions for meetings and to simply enjoy some "time out". Attentive service without being intrusive. Always try the specials as the chef was very interested in the feedback. Leave room for the Genovese coffee (a must).

I went there with the wife for my birthday on a Friday night. The restaurant was extremely quiet, just me and the wife for the whole night. Therefore, we got all the service from the waiter.
The entree we had were the Escargot and the Scallop. Both dishes were quite well-done. I can say the Escargots here were probably better than Belle Epoque (another French Bistro in the valley). The scallops were also very nice. The wife had the boer for mains (something different), and I had the rib eye. Both were also pretty good, but nothing special to brag about.
We both had the creme brulee for dessert, which were also nicely cooked. In summary, a pretty good restaurant, the entree and desserts were probably the highlights.

My husband and I went out to the restaurant for lunch to have some personal time together. The venue is small and cramped and I felt like the people from the next table were sitting on top of me. The steak, smashed potato and veggies were very average. My fondant dessert apparently "flopped" in the oven and we waited ages for my husband's creme brulee to arrive. Overall I will not be returning.

I've been here twice now, and both times have been very, very happy with both the food and service: beautiful meals (I would especially recommend the creme brulee - yum!), and super friendly service.
A lovely atmosphere, and only a short walk from convenient parking in the Valley.
Will definitely be back!

Ate here today with 3 of my female friends, I had a turkey burger which came with salad and fries $15.00 and my friends had a regular cheeseburger, my other friend had the duck and peach salad which looked yummy $15.00 we all ended up having dessert of lemon tart with pistachio cream $12.00 and a coffee, service was brilliant and the waiter made sure our glasses of water were filled at all times.
He came over to check that our food was up to scratch he was very attentive. The atmosphere was great and very relaxing. The meals are for a lady (small). My husband would want to eat a big main meal if he were there. I loved this place and my friends did as well and we are all planning on going there for dinner one night.

Food was fabulous, 8 people and every single one raved about their meal. Great portion sizes and the staff were excellent.

Being recently back from Europe I wanted to take my girlfriend out for a nice date in the city. We had been use to fine dining and the subtle flavours of Europe and I was immediately tempted by this lovely, new and upcoming French-style restaurant. The first point I’d like to make was that we were amazed at the quality of service offered the entire meal.
The meals were portioned well and full of flavour with a reasonable price, need you ask more? The lamb I would definitely recommend as it was succulent and perfectly seasoned. Finishing the night with a chocolate and mascarpone cheesecake with some ice-cream and raspberry sauce, one is enough for two (!), it rounded the whole night perfectly. We were amazed to find it was the first night for the restaurant. Just looking at the breakfast and lunch menu we are definitely going back soon!
