This must be close to the worse restaurant I have ever been to in my lifetime. Had the $90 banquet for two. A total waste of money, a rip off. Overcooked whitebait left a terrible taste in my mouth. Greasy and sloppy foul tasting food with poor presentation. Spoke to the senior staff and complained, and I asked him if he was embarrassed with the food being served? I also asked if he has dined as a customer in his own restaurant, he said "some people love the food and other people have different taste, you can't please everybody".
Don't waste your time or money here, there are other Greek restaurants in West End that respect their customers and give value for money.

There were too many people seated, which meant that once you were seated, you couldn't move. Service was extremely slow, food was less than average and the prices on the online menu were not current, got a surprise when we got the menu at the cafe.

My parents went to Kafe Meze for lunch and told me I had to try it. Me and a few girls got together and booked a table for a thursday night. We were greeted with a friendly smile and a hello by the waitress.
We ordered separate mains and the food was incredible and so big, we ordered the duck, cuttlefish, lamb cutlets and the calamari and everything was cooked to perfection. I am generally very picky on food but this was perfect. The atmosphere of the restaurant and the staff were amazing and made sure we had a great time.
I would definitely recommend Kafe Meze especially after moving to the new location of 56 Mollison St. the little house made restaurant is perfect. Its not a 5 star restaurant and fancy its casual laid back and a perfect place for a first date or dinner. Its one of the top and I will continue to return with my friends.

Good value lunch option if you have 45 minutes. Some nice european bottled beers also to match tender charred meats. Good helping of salad too in the meals.

Don't do it! Service was appalling, although I don't think that was necessarily the fault of the one waitress they had working on a Friday night. Food was overcooked, cold and served in no sort of sensible sequence, we had the 8 course meal. There were eight of us, so a substantial bill for very little value. Said bill was presented to us without an offer of coffee or desserts, and no, we had had very little to drink.
My advice to the restaurant is: get a chef and some staff, work out what customer service is and maybe you will survive. This is my second visit to this place and the move has not improved anything. I just thought I'd check.

I can't really be bothered writing too much because I found the experience a waste of time, effort and money. Service was woeful considering there were only 2 other people in the restaurant when we arrived (mid week)! The wait person smiled but that was it for service. No recommendations, no enthusiasm. None of the Greek charm that you'd expect.
The food (we had the banquet) was plentiful but incredibly mediocre. Meat was grossly overcooked (with the sole exception of the octopus which was delicious). The dips were tin or jar, they were by no means 'home made' - I'll stand corrected but the colour additives gave it away. Chips (I suspect frozen chips) and bread were ok but, geez, if you can't get those basics right.
Dessert for me was plain vanilla ice cream with choc topping (I was feeling like a kid, so went for a plain favourite). The ice cream was horrible and clearly from a $1 for 50Kg bulk tub, if you get my drift. The traditional Greek desserts ordered by others at our table were reported to be dry and uninspiring. Obviously not very fresh.
I wouldn't go back here in a fit. Sorry, folks, but Greek food is wonderfully simple and easy to replicate, as many other Greek restaurants achieve with ease. I think the owners need to get involved. Some advice to the restaurant beyond the food, the menus could do with a good wipe down.

We have the banquet between 6 people. On the plus side, the haloumi was well cooked and plentiful, the waitress was polite and had a nice smile, the restaurant was pleasent environment but it wasn't busy, not a good sign for that location.
On the negative side, the rest of the food was appalling, the fried eggplant was just mush, the fried zucchini was just overcooked and cold slices of zucchini. And the biggest crime was the sheftalia, these should be beautiful, plump, juicy, herby pieces of heaven (having lived in Cyprus I think I am a bit of an authority on this) but they were small, hard and cooked by cutting in half, shame on you Kafe Meze.
Even the Ent Voucher didn't take the edge of my disappointment. Such promise but I won't be returning.

The best greek restaurant in Brisbane! I love the food at Kafe Meze, so beautiful and fresh! The courtyard in the back is wonderful for large functions and I highly recommend the meze banquet, the meatballs, the haloumi, the baklava and the beaufiful Rose Greek wine! Thank you to Robyn and the staff for hosting such an amazing Sunday lunch.
I am so impressed with the level of service, the beautifully renovated restaurant and most of all, the food! What a gem, I will surely be recommending it to everyone I know. It is no longer difficult to find a well run, friendly, and high quality family oriented Greek restaurant in Brisbane.

What a shame! We love Greek food having lived in Cyprus for many years and it was such a disappointment. We all ordered the Meze banquet. It all came out way too quick and the vege platter looked like a pile of mush. The meat kebabs were tough and fatty, the calamari was over cooked. Portions were small (not that we would have eaten much more because of the quality). If it has been decent we would have been repeat customers!
