Went last night with a large party Sat-10th March-2012. We had to pre-order the meal? sat around two teppanyaki hot plates with only one cook. Food preparation was average to say the best, rice was nice. No showmanship by the cook which is what Teppanyaki restaurants are renowned for. Drinks were very slow in coming, Wouldn't go back to this place again, too many other choices in Brisbane to have to put up with such a poor offering.

First time visitor for lunch. Lovely waitress. Nice food. Quick and lunch okonomiyaki set is great value. Only negative is the unhappy chef. Wish we could cook our own.

Such a wonderful experience. Teppanyaki chef was very entertaining and made us laugh. Wine list and drinks service could improve but I would recommend this restaurant for a fun night out with a difference. :)

We recently went to Kabuki for a birthday party (Feb 2010). This was the third time visiting the restaurant, and after previously visiting and having a fantastic experience, this visit left us feeling extremely disappointed. We had a table of 12 and at approx. $110/head we expected reasonable service, good food and Japanese Saki.

The service was terrible and on a number of occasions had to approach the staff directly to get drink service. Our Teppanyaki chef was shared between three different tables and was extremely grumpy. The food was not as good as previously experienced and it seems their standards have dropped considerably. I would never go again.

I've been a few times, and always love it here. It is very Japanese for anyone who has been to Japan. Loud, noisy, obscure is all part of the experience. The wait staff tend to be on the poor side, but the Teppanyaki chefs are fantastic and do a great show. Practising your catching skills before going. Always happy to go back. If you are after just dinner, not the place for you. If you are after a dinner and show, some good fun, and good food, Kabuki doesn't disappoint.

I am a regular at Kabuki, love the food, freshness and humour of the teppan chefs. Service at times is a little poor, drinks are always arriving late and sometimes the communication with the staff lets the restaurant down as wrong things get ordered and frustration sets in. Love the sake selection and great red wine list. Pretty but pricey though.

My first real teppenyaki experience and I was quite impressed by the show they put on. The food was pretty good but it's the atmosphere that makes it great.

Good solid Japanese BBQ. Has the usual range of set menus. I went for the top one, as it had some seafood. They have a reasonable range of Sake too. The DVD screens showing a Japanese historical fantasy film without sound were a bit odd though.
