Stefan definitely had the right idea when he hatched this one.
Jo-Jo's is, like another reviewer mentioned, practically an upmarket food court in a bar, but it works well, if you can get a seat. I would recommend it more for a quick pit-stop sort of place to grab a bite rather than a full-blown-night-out sort of place (leave that to endless stream of outer-suburban bogans who book all the balcony seats).
It's nice to be able to come in, sit down, and leisurely be able to choose your food and drinks without being hassled by some pen-holding numbskull on a stupidity bender. Paying up front upon ordering is also a welcome feature as I like to leave as soon as I'm done. Call me impatient but I can't stand that fifteen minute wait for the bill to be totalled when I have the exact cash here in my palm.
The food is generally pretty good and not-bad in the value stakes. The pizzas are pretty decent and the Thai food tasty and fragrant. The decor is like a cross between the Godfather's bathroom and an American diner circa 1956. Overall it is very clean and comfortable.
So, follow the crowd and give it a go. If you manage to score a balcony seat, tell me how!

Jojo's, with its palacial Italian interior design, overlooks the most central intersection in the city. A great surprise then to find, not only that cuisine of many cultures is prepared at its four serveries and but also that prices are kept to a level the average person can afford and still have a drinks from the well stocked bar.
No wonder that the best tables are booked for two sessions many evenings and that staff are kept very busy, yet somehow keep their cool even with the cantankerous, like me.

This is like an upmarket food court, the idea is not a bad one as it offers restaurant quality and variety (Thai, Chinese, Italian). The coffee is not bad and there is a bar with a decent variety of drinks. The location, if you can get a balcony seat is not bad, looking down onto the crowds in the mall area.
The staff are professional but this is mostly a combo of self serve and service, ie; you go to the bar and the various food stands and order then take a seat. It works well and if you have a large group then it caters for all tastes. The food is decent, not spectacular, but is quite pricey.

The food tastes ok, serving size is medium. They often have 2 for 1 promotion, which makes their food good value.

The waitress from Ghana was very attentive ambience nice relaxed and comfortable, however, the Spag bol was according to the menu is the best in the world and even though I have had worse on my travels it certainly wasn't the best. Although the chicken caesar salad was very very nice and plenty of it. Overall not a bad experience!

Jo Jo's is a great place to eat, so many options something for everyone, we got a nice table out on the balcony overlooking queen st. Great cocktails, and their house wine which is very reasonably priced was one of the best sav blancs I have every had. Cheers Oh its best to book.

JoJo's was crowded as expected on a Friday night. Although my date and I did not appreciate waiting for 15 minutes while standing, as there are no seats anywhere to sit and wait, nor at the bar. The fact that you have to go and order yourself, and go to the bar when you want a drink was quite inconvenient.
I ordered the vegetarian frittata, it was fast, however cold.
I think they tried to compensate for the lack of taste and quality by filing 3/4 of the plate with salad. I would not go back again, perhaps if the total bill was under $60 for two people.
Too overpriced for what you got, their was no ambience, too overcrowded, the food was not up to pare and the fact that we had to get up every time for a drink, made the whole experience feel cheap like we were in a food court.

I would say that this place is more of a glorified food court. Although the food was quite tasty. I had the beef and reef with chips and salad which cost me $38.00. The portion was really good and yummy. I ordered my steak to be medium and it didn't really take that long for it to come out. The weird thing is that they don't have salt and pepper shakers, they give you little sachets.

Right in the middle of the city mall, very busy on Friday night when we recently went. Had booked a table, but had to wait for ages. Self service for your food, but a great selection. Fun night out. Not child friendly however.

Great place, good prices. A range of nice food; pizza, pasta, salad. Also has a bar. Great place to bring friends for a fun night. In the middle of the city, fun atmosphere.
