Dinner at Jellyfish amazing. Food was delicious. View is beautiful. Atmosphere open and pleasant. Service good. Couldn't have asked for a better experience.

Atrocious service. Bookings a shambles. Parked in bar for extended period and charged exorbitantly - $23 for peroni and vodka & lime!

Wow what an awesome restaurant! My husband took me to Jellyfish for my birthday.
We arrived early and had a drink at the bar - which was very cool.
We were seated outside and enjoyed the spectacular views of the Brisbane river - the atmosphere is excellent.
The food was amazing, the freshest seafood i've every tasted! You could really taste the quality of the ingredients and appreciate the work that went into every dish!
The service was excellent - we both were a little stuck on what to order with both the food and wine. The waitress was excellent in assisting us choose our entrees, mains and wine.
I had the calamari and the snapper for main - both were incredible.
Highly recommended.

Jellyfish unquestionably has a fantastic outlook over the river and Story Bridge and so we were looking forward to dining here on a recent 'special occasion'. Sadly we left disappointed.
While the food we order was really nice, the service was terrible and so we won't be back and certainly wouldn't recommend Jellyfish to others. A drinks menu was not given to us (and slow to be provided when we asked for one). We were left waiting when we were ready to order (a drink order was not even taken until ordering our food). Empty plates were left on the table for a long time between courses. Even paying the bill presented a problem and took around 20 minutes.
But the worst thing about the night was when we provided feedback on the service, with the staff disinterested in what we have to say. No matter how good the quality of food, Jellyfish will not be seeing me again!

I booked a table Saturday night outside, but it was cold when my family and I arrived. Asked for a table inside and was put in the main corridor of the restaurant which only had 5 tables occupied at that time, the restaurant was only 1/4 full when we left. 15 minutes after we ordered we overheard the next table being offered the "specials" that we may have had if offered. The food was nothing special. Good attentive service may have attracted our repeat custom, but we will go elsewhere now.

Although Jellfish can be a tad expensive, I thoroughly enjoyed dinner here. As a Sydney-sider on a business trip, I was looking for somewhere on the Brisbane river with good quality food and decent service. we arrived on a week night around 7pm with no reservation and were quickly ushered to a table close to the river edge depite the restaurant being quite busy.
We had the special of the day - whole barramundi cooked 2 ways - one side was filleted, steamed and served with an asian-inspired salad and coconut/sweet chilli dressing. Just beautiful. The other fillet was still attached to the fish, the flesh scored and barbecued and served with a variety of mayo and dipping sauces. One of the highlights was the presentation and at $95 for the dish to share between two it is not cheap, but definitely worth it for a nice night out, business dinner or to impress someone.
Service was unfussed and professional, and the wine list very extensive.
Would definitely recommend this restaurant for the food, service and beautiful location.

Booked for 8 pm had to sit in the bar for well over half an hour waiting for a table. Well, I say a bar but it was more aptly described as the hallway to the toilets with a steady stream of users going back and forth. The decor is suburban club standard. First page of the menu warns that you can get diarrhea by eating certain menu item - nice start!
Ordered scallops for entree which had been simply heated under a grill and presented with soy beans (didn't work together at all) and a smudge of black stuff on the plate. Tempura moreton bay bugs for main had simply been dunked shell and all into batter and deep fried. The menu states that their main menu items are sufficient on their own. They are not of course, this is simply a cynical way of having you pay extra for any sides (even a slice of bread is $2.50 extra).
Add the main and the sides together and this is the most expensive main course I've had in years of dining out. If it was great, I'd accept it but it wasn't even average. Staff are efficient but indifferent, there is a complete process mentality here, no sincerity or caring whatsoever. Don't waste your time or your money!

I was taken here by a local who advised me this was one of the hot restaurants in Brisbane. Didn't like it. Good location. Horrible chairs, half an hour in one is more than enough. As others have said, a stupidly complex menu. Service was prompt. Food was just average.
I ordered the tempura Golden Snapper. This was much closer to fish in a beer batter than tempura. Fish was completely overwhelmed by the batter and oil taste. The Vietnamese side dipping sauce was way too sweet. The accompanying salads were quite good.
Cheese platter was poor. Whoever chose the accompanying crackers and bread should have a good hard look at themselves. The cheeses themselves were mundane and why on a 3 cheese plate would you not include a soft cheese?
Hard to give this place a high rating. Other than the location, it is very ordinary. I hope it is not at the top of Brisbane's dining experiences.

Disappointed. I agree with the other critiques below about the wait staff. Service was fair, no one could speak english properly and what is with the maitre d' in his haughty suit? The food was bland, don't get the wedges as a side dish as they are just over-fried and boring. To be honest, it's like a very overpriced, posh fish and chip place with nice views of the brown river. I actually much prefer the succulent fish and chips I buy from my local fish and chip store!
Be warned, the staff are trained to up-sell constantly too. Very suprising for such a posh venue. They were incessant. After we placed our meals and decided against entree's (cost avg. $26 each!) they still tried to persuade us to buy a plate of oysters to share.
Then waiters kept milling back and forth asking if we wanted to order some "Asahi Beer" etc, when no one on our table was drinking beer at all and what made them suggest that brand to us? I couldn't wait to leave.

I don't know. I came here expecting a lot and the food delivered. Although it was bloody hard to work out how to order it. I would expect when you have a complicated menu that you would be talked through how to order instead of being left to fend for yourself. I have given a bad score to ambience because in January it is too humid in Brisbane to enjoy eating outside. Everyone was sweating. None more than the poor waiters but it is not attractive sight when you are trying to enjoy a nice meal.
There was 3 of us and we ordered the scallops for the table to start with. Cooked excellently and beautiful but again the service let them down. We were not given any individual plates to eat from. I understand this is not a big deal but when you are paying $25 for a starter I expect these little things. My main of Mahi Mahi was superb but the spotted mackerel was full and I mean full of bones. I am not sure if this is to be expected with this fish but I would expect to be advised of this by my waiter. All in all I will go back but I will sit further back from the front of the restaurant to try and get some air con and thereby sacrificing the view.
