My husband and I used to love this place but since the new owners took over last year its gone downhill fast. Everything we loved has changed. The food is of poor quality and bland tasting. The service was awful. The overall experience left us hungry and disappointed. Bring back the old staff!
We were very disappointed as the food was bland and poor quality. The service, they seemed stressed and keen to pack up and get everyone out of there! We received a chipped wine glass, had to pay $1 for water due to water restrictions!!!! The prawn pasta was soggy and the pasta broken up the way a child would request it. They had run out of certain items for the salmon dish, the lamb shank was fatty and tasteless (we could hear the yelling in the kitchen about getting them out of the freezer!). Very overpriced considering the poor quality of the food.
Have been to the Jazzy Cat a few times is quite good. They were very accommodating the last time when we arrived with 3 more guests then we had booked for it seemed no problem for them to change our table. Our out of town friends were quite impressed.
What a let down. After reading the reviews for this cafe we decided to give it a go. Limited entrees meant we all had salads that were passable. The fun began with the mains. We returned one meal (salmon) as it was not cooked. The pasta was the equal of a childs first attempt at cooking. The steaks were good but why couldn't we get a steak knife. Lastly we had bought a bottle of special wine to have with the salmon which had been placed in the frig. We asked for it and it appeared at the table. After the first glass we discovered that this was not the bottle we had bought and a search produced the correct bottle.

Very, very slow and patchy service, were not offered water or drinks list on arriving, food (sandwiches) took ages and bread was way too thick, overpowering the filling. Had to ask for drinks list, it was given to us but the waiter never came back, we had to stop another waiter and order, then the drinks took ages to arrive.
Great Café with really yummy, quality food - from gourmet pizza to pumpkin salad - I've never had anything there I didn't think was top notch. Their vegetarian pizza is fantastic and so is their avocado cream pasta.
The place has the expected ambience of a typical Queenslander style house that's been converted to a Café and as such, you want to stay for hours. It has a front verandah area and out the back, a spacious deck and a large courtyard downstairs. The service is good and the price is typical of a trendy West End Café. You really should try it.
