May have been a bad night but not serving us the entree and salad we had ordered was a bad sign. A small bland risotto with broad beans without any obvious broad beans and a bland died out coral trout made us glad we had avoided the entree.

Staff were friendly enough but still tried to include the missing entree on the bill. Thank god for the great value Turkish restaurant Ahmet's we visited for lunch.

The food and service at this restaurant has been consistently good for the last four years that I have been coming here. The only possible thing I could say negative about this place is that it's a little noisy inside, sounds like a dining hall. Apart from that it's a great Brisbane favourite and I'll keep on coming back for that Sandcrab Lasagne! I know people who come all the way from Sydney to eat that dish, it is amazing!

Had dinner here on a Friday night, spur of the moment thing. Was packed out - we thought it was way too noisy!! However the service was excellent! Maybe the best service I've experienced in Brisbane... our waiter was on hand within minutes of us needing attention, we were very impressed! As for the food, although it is expensive we both enjoyed our meals and felt that it was worth the price for good food and great service. Only complaint really is the noise but it might be better on a different night of the week.

We went for dinner on Friday night, booked only 1 and 1/2 hrs before for 2 people, it wasn't overly busy but was early, got busier around 8 pm. We had an excellent waitress, had the sourdough to start then 1 dozen oysters from Tasmania 1/2 natural and 1/2 kilpatrick, the kilpatrick looked like a very overpowering sauce with pancetta, surprisingly it was well balanced and complemented the oysters, they were very nice.

For mains we had the signature Sandcrab lasagne "entree size" as I'd read previous reviews that it was very rich and it didn't disappoint, the fish and chips was nice well cooked snapper (fish of the day) and hand cut chips, nice tartare but a bit overpriced, desserts of the day lime souffle and vanilla bean pannacotta were both very nice. I was a bit wary of going here due to some of the reviews but glad I did, will definitely go back and try other dishes if I can get passed not ordering the crab lasagne again.

Sorry but just not good enough for the price. The salt and pepper squid entree was very good, but the main which was coral trout was overcooked and chewy, the sauce was a muddle of flavones that really didn't work very well and the presentation was ordinary. For $40+ for a main you don't expect to get chewy coral trout. Service was friendly and efficient though and the ambience is good. Need to lift the game on the food, I won't be going back at that price for that quality.

If you have the cash and need somewhere flash this is the place to go. I can't fault it and have never been disappointed. Everything about this place is perfect.

The mixed seafood entrée was very good, especially the Moreton Bay bug tail! I had the sand crab lasagne aswell, I got the entree size and this was certainly enough for me. As other reviewers have also said, I could definitely not finish a main size as it was extremely rich! The olives and olive oil that came with the bread roll were also very nice.

The service was a little abrupt and it was a bit pricey, but the food was very good and probably worth it.

Whenever I come to Brisbane I make sure I come here. All the food is great but the pick is the sandcrab lasagne which is absolutely divine, though very rich. The service is always unobtrusive but impeccable. The restaurant could do with a bit of a facelift, particularly the outside area but that is not way you come here.

We have been dining here quite a few times and were never disappointed. Service is very good, their signature dish "seafood lasagne" simply delicious though very rich (entree size is enough), the pizzas thin and crispy, fish of the day or any other main course we ever had was very good. I can only recommend it. A consistently good restaurant.
