Love this place, visit it everytime I visit Brisbane. Out of the busy eat street but try and get a table inside, even better for 4 people get one of the pews in the back room, you just have to cross your legs though.

The menu has a lot of the authentic dishes, momos are the way they are meant to be...vegetarian. The soups are good and hearty. Curries range from goat to a creamy garlic prawns. Portions are generous enough so it is hard to taste everything.

The staff are friendly, most of the wait staff are casual worker but the cooks are the real thing. On the way to the wash room, he will spin the prayer wheel for you. Bless his heart.

Fantastic! The sherpa chicken curry is the most recommended, my boyfriend loves it and has me hooked too. We've been quite a few times and it's always good. There's a lovely area out the back where you sit on cushions, feels quite hippy-like and relaxed. If you have trouble sitting down or standing up, don't go for this option, but it's a cool alternative to normal dining! Definitely recommended.

Wow!! the Himalayan Cafe... what a treat. The fragrances, the aromas - the yogurt, mint, pesto, tomatoe sauces, curries, goat, pesto, pine nuts, corriander, shallots, you name it - if it has a Himalayan - Tibetan - Nepalese connotation to it, then it will definitely be served here!! The deco is just welcoming, however I hear there is an area out the back that is even more comfortable. The one thing that was a bit of a let down is the time it took for the food to be served. I guess that quality means preparation and preparation means time. Most definitely worth checking. The food was just divine, I had to crawl out after I finished my friend's Banana Lassie - yum! Simply delicious!
