Went to the Full moon Hotel on New Years Eve at 6.30pm for dinner with friends.
We were seated at our table which was not set (none of them were) Cutlery is provided in paper bags with a paper napkin, just like a cheap motel room. After surveying the poor menu (which took all of a minute due to the poor offerings) we selected our dishes. When they arrived they were not even accompanied by some salad or chips, these are now extra. It's serve yourself at the bar for a drink.
OMG has the place gone to the scrap heap? Would never go here for a meal again! The local takeaway is better!

I really dislike pub restaurants, and this is no exception. The food was alright, I suppose, the view over the bay could be great, but it's still just a pub, the poker machines annoy the heck out of me, and I'd rather get fish and chips and sit on the beach.

Only new to Brisbane so thought we would try our local bar. Staff were friendly and helpful. We ordered a Pizza each. First Pizza arrive was burnt, staff member said she had already ask the Chief (Chief being too kind really) to do another.
Once the none burnt Pizza's arrived we ate about 2 pieces each and left. $18.00 each for Pizza that tasted awful and didn't even have everything on it that was on the menu! Will never darken their door again. Should have listened to the Waiter when they were telling us where the best Pizza was in Sandgate!

My wife and I went there for dinner and I must say that the food was even below pub standard food. The Reef and Beef I had was very disappointing. I asked for a medium done steak which came out burnt in some areas and it was verging on being tough. The roasted vegetables looked and tasted as if they had been cooked early in the day and reheated. A dry tasteless meal. My wife's dish of chicken was okay but it was drowned in a bed of sweet potato. However, the staff were very friendly. Would I go there again? yes but only to have a plate of chips or a snack.

What a night!, The changes at The Full Moon are amazing, my last visit was 3 months ago and not so great, but his time Wow! There must have been a change of management as everything is different, the restaurant is great, the food is great, the service is great!
I read the other reviews here and all I can say is, what low-rate planet are you from? Brisbane it is time to wake up, comments like pub-fare and expensive are frequent on here, well I don't know what is pub-fare about whole mud-crab, a fantastic baked seafood dish, atlantic salmon and a huge and beautifully cooked eye fillet steak, the four dishes we chose tonight and expensive? Not! apart from the whole mudcrab at $50 nothing else was over $28, unless your dining at Maccas I don't think these prices are expensive at all!
As for service, well, yeah last time it was ordinary but this time, staff were attentive, friendly, helpful and professional! everything I could ask, maybe people should remember you're not eating at The Marriot or The Hilton and you're not paying for silver service either!
In my boom, a great night, great meal, great service and I will be going back!

This hotel definitely rests on the laurels of its water views. Food is on the expensive side and fairly mediocre unless you are having the prawns which were great on the night we ate there. The squid dish was like leather and only tasted like salt. After squeezing about half a lemon over it, it tasted like leather bathed in lemon and salt. The two fish dishes were both overcooked and quite dry.
The service was abysmal. Our mains arrived in the hands of two staff members but our table was still stacked with the starter plates. We (the customers) had to lift up the dirty plates and then pass them to the waiters after they had served our mains. Catching the eye of a waiter was nigh on impossible, we just wanted our bill and when we did catch someone's eye and asked if we could have our bill we were told she'd be back in a minute. Ten minutes later she came back minus bill and asked if she could help us. Five minutes later our bill arrived.
This is a great place to go on an spring/autumn/winter day, can be a bit hot in summer, with wonderful views over the Bay. But don't expect to be served in a hurry, or get great food. As someone else said, if you are going to serve pub grub, charge pub prices and not restaurant prices. Pick up your act Full Moon. Everyone knows you've got a great view, it's time to deliver on something else.

Even though the view is great I am absolutely frustrated by the fact when you book and ask for a waterview table they cannot tell you until you come on the day. Why oh why. Also the service is extremely hit and miss.

Not happy Jan. I went there for breakfast and have probably never been as disappointed with a meal before. My mother had a crab omelette which was actually raw in the middle, the stench from the omelette was so seafoody and overpowering that I was unable to eat my sweet breakfast of pancakes.
The pancakes, what a disaster. Two thin pancakes drowned in syrup and half a banana and two strawberries. Almost inedible from the overuse of syrup. And two pancakes for $15 is not good value. My mother found her omlette overpowering, it's like they were trying to make up for using tinned crab with fish sauce, the smell was like a fish shop.
Now onto the service bungle. In a near empty restaurant with a water view, we wanted to sit near the water, but were shuffled away to a table no where near the view. This was disappointing. After being seated and given menu's eventually someone came to take our order. Ages after this our coffee arrived, after we chased it up with the staff. Finally our inedible meals arrived, minus cutlery. Our waiter was unable to deliver cutlery as other tables were calling for his attention, "mate can you put this coffee in the microwave" "Excuse me, no butter came with my wife's toast" etc.
The whole place felt like choas. Even though there was about 14 customers total. We pushed some food around our plate and went to pay, the person standing at the cash register looked up at us and then walked away. Finally someone came to process our payment. After a bad meal, bad service and having to wait to pay for the pleasure. They even had the hide to charge us a $2 "donation" to a charity they were supporting, without telling us. We only noticed when we checked out receipt in the car.
The only redeeming feature is the water view, but being the island nation that we are there are far better places to eat and stare at the ocean. I was utterly shocked at the expensive prices, bad service and terrible food. Perhaps a Sunday arvo beer is a better option at the Full Moon.

Tried you guys once, food was presented as a pub counter meal and the taste the same. Tried you guys 1 year later and I see you have not changed much. Went to a wedding recently and the food and services needs lifting, I see you are busy but alot of locals agree your standards need lifting, try asking local what they really think....

Pub food at restaurant prices. If they charged pub prices they could get away with it.
