So glad that someone else thinks this restaurant is totally overrated. How does it continue to win all those awards!? Food was so salty and unimaginative!!
Rarely in Brisbane do I feel ripped off and such an idiot for being suckered by the hype. This pedigree restaurant needs a major wake up on food, service, ambience and attitude towards diners.. I believe the shoulder to shoulder crowd is there because of the advertising. Like the table beside us we walked out and went to another restaurant after 3 courses. Never ever ever again.
Great food but felt patronised by the waiting staff for not drinking alcohol with our meals. We were told we were not "at that level yet". Definitely not the opening line I was looking for! It took a long time to receive our menu's and even longer for our drinks to be prepared. To be fair, the food was great.
One of my favourites! Food is always a pleasure. Extensive wine list. Only downside is it is a bit noisy with the wooden floors and seating can be squishy.
We love this place and eat there regularly. The food is fantastic and the service is very good. If you want to make sure you'll have a great night, this is the place to go. Not once have we been let down!
Surely one of Brisbanes best dining experiences. Fantastic food, served by educated staff who care. Compared to other capital cities, it's pretty good value. The ambience could do with some tweaking, probably it's only downfall. I shared a meal with my wife and we agreed that for a quiet meal for two with some accompanying merlot, it was hard to beat.
Tucked away and a little scary for parking but the fabulous food selection and quality make you forget. Service is always great; very helpful and attentive. Impressive for the discerning diner.
For such a famous restaurant, the interior was a little too "country" for my liking.
The food did not disappoint though. Soft shell crab salad renewed a lost love for these strange crustaceans and the wagyu tartare also impressed. Rabbit saddle stuffed with prunes was a solid performer and the sirloin with truffle mash was intoxicating. I was too full for dessert but a peanut and chocolate number did catch my eye. Oh well, next time.
The food in this place is superb. I had the wagyu (kobe beef) for lunch and just can't wait to get back there for more. The staff are professional and absolutely on their game here. The only downside is the view really, given all the construction work going on outside. The tables are also a little 'packed in' but go for the food an ...undeniable experience for the truly deserving!
