We're from the UK and have travelled all over the world, this was one of the best meals we've had for ages. The venison hot pot was meltingly tender and rich, and my wife's poached chicken breast was perfect. We chose from the patisserie cabinet for dessert and their signature cheesecake blew us away, it was absolutely stunning.
The waitress couldn't have been friendlier, and her wine recommendation of the one of the local cabernets was spot on. Only down point was the building itself, pretty plain from the outside and a bit noisy inside. Value for money brilliant, we've been charged double or triple those prices in Sydney and Melbourne at 'name' restaurants and the food here was hands down better.
Wow, I cannot believe this place came so highly recommended, Perhaps, I came on a bad night (sat night). But the scallops entree they served me came with a cauliflower puree which went off days ago. They replaced it with a soup which was garnished with a piece of cilantro with black mold all over it. My pork medallions were breaded and slimy and very over cooked.
My wife's salmon was not fresh and also overcooked, clearly the quality of the ingredients and the preparation were lacking. I will never go back. In fact I had 2 other unhappy customers in front of me as I waited to pay my overpriced bill.
