Brought along 2 families to this restaurant on 2nd Feb 2011. Staffs were not attentive, I had to pick up the water bottles and shout for the menu. Ordered 8 dishes with 1 dish not available after 1hr and 10min wait. Being charged for 8 dish instead of 7. It's gonna be my 1st and my last visit to that restaurant.

Food is mostly fine. Don't like the ShuiZhuYu there but prefer the ShuiZhuNiuRou(beet in hot soup). Sometimes don't like the attitude of the senior staff.

Poor excuse for SiChuan (SzeChuan), seems only Melbourne has the real stuff. We tried two famous "Mala" (Numbing Chili) dishes, LaziJiDing (Chili Roast Chicken) $18.90 and ShuiZhuYu (Fish in Boiling Chili Oil) $23.90, both disappointing. The oil was rank on both and had a sickening taste, not peanut oil, but a sickening palm oil with chili oil added (they told us “we buy Chili Oil), even when the oil dripped off you couldn’t get rid of the taste.

In Melbourne, pay typ. $5 more each dish but get a plate full of expensive chillis and it leaves a genuine red chilli oil slick on top of the ShuiZhuYu, not having some slimy mass-market sump oil coat your food. Dishes: LaziJiDing has ½ the chicken of Tian Fu in South Yarra, and almost no chilli (but was very hot); ShuiZhuYu (normally 4 star chilli) was mild as, and only had bean sprouts, no vegetables as are normally added.

Surprised that many Asians eating here because normally only Westerners have their taste buds in their a…, and could think this poor excuse is ok.

We haven't yet had the Peking Duck so we can't comment on portion size as noted by the previous reviewer. But every other dish we've had is more than a generous serving. Extravagant and delicious, I would say. The dishes are out of the ordinary, as is the decor. Note, don't go if you don't like chilli.

Menu does not specify if you order specials you have to pay cash. Menu does not specify how many servings of the second course of the Peking Duck is served (FYI 4 servings) so if you have more than 4 people the rest will miss out. They do not have the courtesy to inform nor to think that oh there is more than 4, therefore, we should split the portions according to the number of guests on the table!

Also the most expensive Peking duck in town! 4 measly servings of the second course and there are no options like other Chinese restaurants. Over $56 for a 2 course Peking duck. $56 gives you less than 10 pieces of skin and 4 servings of san choi bau! Where do they get their duck from? Lilliput?

And the worst sin of all they cancel your meal without telling you! Why this happened we gather is because of the argument from the Peking duck course. At least have the courtesy to tell your customer we do not like your attitude, therefore, we will no longer serve you instead of keeping quiet and letting people waste their time!
