Thank you for a great night. What a treat for Valentines Day and what a surprise for my girlfriend. She has been talking about this little restaurant, hidden away between a german butcher and the pub on the corner for a long time now. So I decided to make her wish come true and what better day can I pick than the day of love.

Long story short. Don't wait and book in advance. We were lucky to get a table that night. Go and try, the food was so beautiful french and underlined by all the french floor staff. Even the chef is french. The French experience.

Thank you again to everyone who made our night so special.

Superb classic French cuisine prepared by an expert (French, of course) chef. You can practise your French or order in Aussie. The prices are a tad high for a Melbournian nomad but don't let that put you off. We had the coq au vin and the canard a l'orange and can highly recommend both, and the crepes suzette are definitely worth getting fatter for.

My partner and I ate here for my birthday, as a special treat. It is not a cheap place, but, I feel, for the quality of the food (excellent) and the portions (good size), it is worth the money. We shared an entree, a beautiful crab meat pastry, soft pastry and fresh crab meat. Delicious.

We had the duck, which was served with a pumpkin puree, the duck was slow cooked perfectly, the meat was rich, organic and tender. I had the eye fillet, which was simply fantastic, it was so tender it melted in my mouth.

The service from the French staff was professional, very friendly and attentive without being intrusive, the waiter even took a couple of photo's for us with a smile and laugh. We felt well looked after and the meals arrived at prompt yet perfect intervals. There was a small appetiser and bread for free, so we did not go hungry waiting.

Besides, it is pleasure to sit in this small restaurant, it has beautifully tasteful decor and lights, and in an old building in The Gabba, it feels like a slice of France to me. The mains cost about $30 and the entree we shared was $14, and I thought, for this quality food, atmosphere and service, it was worth every penny. we left very satisfied. Simply delightful.
