I have recently visited Cam Ranh restaurant suggested by a friend who highly recommended me to try it out. The feeling that I got when I first stepped into the place was indescribable. The ambience was just sensational. Not to mention, the food was fantastic and reasonable cheap! Especially their mudcrabs, pho tai and rice paper roll!
Though the service caused a barrier between communication, but its understandable for a small vietnamese/chinese restaurant. However, in saying this, the staff are really friendly and approachable. I highly recommend people to try it out for themselves.

The food is authentic, and the staff friendly, even if not the most efficient due to the language barrier. My criteria for a good ethnic restaurant is to see members of that ethnic group dining there, and you can't communicate very well with the staff, who also happen to be of that ethnicity. While that may create the occasional confusion with your order, it also means you are experiencing the real deal. This restaurant gets four stars from our dining group in Ipswich.

If this restaurant is anything to go by, obviously Queenslanders are happy with a fairly poor standard of Vietnamese Restaurants. The Spring rolls were served with sweet chilli sauce, what about the lettuce, viet mint and fish sauce that is the normal in Victoria! The other main courses, whilst served hot and very quick, lacked the finer detail that I am used to in Bridge Road.
The Food Court at the local shopping centre has more ambience, all in all, a thoroughly disappointing meal whilst trying to introduce newcomers to the Vietnamese way of eating. I picked this restaurant after reading reviews that raved about it's meals, a lesson I've learn't about not believing what you read.

A Brisbane institution, put up with the decor and be slightly bemused by the service. If you order what the regulars eat - pho thai, chilli crab, flounder etc., it will all make sense.

Its very cheap but the food is not much better than that of Chinese Takeaway Fast-food. The food comes out oily and poorly presented. I was very disappointed and will never go back again.
