I have been a big supporter of this restaurant for a number of years. We ordered something off the specials menu board. After we ordered, the staff changed the prices on the specials board, increasing the prices. When I went to pay, they charged me the higher amount. I questioned it and said we ordered when the lower price was on the board, and they bascially said too bad, as they were charging a public holiday surcharge.

I am fine with paying a public holiday surcharge if I am told about it. I am not happy to be charged a higher price for a meal because the staff change the price on the specials board after I have already ordered. The female team member with short red hair was not good at communicating the reason why we had to pay this higher price. I also had to pay $5.80 for a small bottle of coke. Good food but I won't be going back because of the bad attitude.

A couple of Victorian Winemakers in Brisbane on Business thoroughly enjoyed our dinner at this little restaurant, fish was excellent, service was great, would definitely go back next time we are up that way.

Awesome place, the outside seating is great, heaters, fairy lights and great food, by far the nicest place to sit down and have dinner and a wine, great waitress' always smiling, desserts are delicious and by far the best place in the city to eat. You don't have to get up and pay for every drink you buy like most places in the city and the atmosphere makes eating out great. Highly recommend the pasta's and bruschetta bread at Mondial. Coffee is nice also.

Had my son's 21st birthday dinner in small room there, everything was fantastic. The waiters were extremely attentive, food was great. We were allowed to decorate the room as we wanted to make it a great memorable evening.

What a shame. After spending several hundred dollars on three consecutive nights there with business clients I was accused by the senior staff of lying about how many oysters I received (6 instead of the requested 12). I am the sort of person that would own up to receiving too many! Other than this the food, ambience and service is pretty good!

Renowned for its fresh pasta, great location, watching the waiters on a busy night is like eating out in Europe! Their bruschetta is the best. Love the place I keep going back.

Great service from the waiter, who was very eager to please. Food was ok, $15 lunch special for 2 risotto balls with salad, slight overkill on the parsley all over the risotto, is in a handly location. Had pasta from cafe mondial that evening (staying in adjoining hotel) and the sauce was fairly terrible, very very salty. The fact that I was starving and had paid $23 made me soldier on through as much as I could, but will not be returning. Coffee, on the bright side, was perfect.

2 bowls of chips for $20!!! what a joke particularly when each bowl had about a dozen of the worst frozen spud sticks I have ever eaten. Ask for sauce and you get 2 tiny plastic thimbles with a tablespoon each, but only after having to remind the service staff of the order. Drinks were ordinary, you get better quality at a truck stop let alone a city cafe. Service was appalling by the 4 wait-staff that it took to bring the order.

To top off the whole experience, when questioning the bill we were swore at by the waiter. Maybe if they were packed with diners I could understand lackluster service and ordinary food, but with 3 tables occupied it is not acceptable. I will not be recommending the venue to anyone, in fact the story will probably come up with friends for many months to come.
