Made a booking and when we arrived were told it was made for the next night. They sat us down as the restaurant was quiet and we were served by what seemed to be the owner and he was great. However, when we asked a different waiter what the price of a drink was she said "I don't know, I'm just the hired help" assuming she would come back with an answer, she did not.
I ordered a Fishermans Platter and when it came out on a dinner plate I knew I was in for a bad experience. One, that's right, one oyster and two prawns, couple of pieces of fish, the rest of the plate was filled with chips, most displeased. My partner ordered a cold platter for two and again the amount of seafood was unacceptable for the price paid. Restaurant is dated and in need of a face lift. I will not recommend this place to my friends.

My husband and young son went to Doug's Seafood Cafe at Sandgate for lunch on Mothers Day. He told me that the girl who served him was incredibly rude to both him and my son. This girl (who was obviously so over her job and people in general), rushed my eight year old son into ordering something, even though at that time, there were no other customers in the store. My son felt so uncomfortable from her rushing him, that he ended up not getting anything to eat.
Then my husband asked her if they sold chicken schnitzels, and her reply was, "We're a fish and chips shop." Then when my husband told her that most f&c shops sell these nowadays, her reply was "Well, we don't." And just for the record girl, I ordered a hamburger from you, and that's not fish and chips either, but you sold that now didn't you? And by looking at reviews on different websites, we were not the only ones to have had such an unpleasant experience with this girl.
Note to senior staff - You need to train this girl because your customers should always come first. And it also might help if you teach your staff to treat customers with kindness, respect and a smile. Word of mouth gets around very quickly when it comes to bad service, so you are not doing yourself or your business any favours.

Cost of seafood is too expensive compared to other seafood shops, cooking oil could be a lot better it is too oily and more seafood items should be crumbed or at least have that on offer instead of just battered, get it back to like what the previous owners had and I will buy more seafood there instead of going elsewhere.

Sun. 29/4 Just left Decks. Very poor dining experience. I ordered King Prawn sandwich. Got 5 school prawns on turkish with tomato, lettuce and aioli for $22. Not good. Wife ordered rare steak, got well done. Had to ask for a steak knife. Had to ask for cracked pepper. Garlic bread. $10. We should have left when we saw this. Even the menu was poor standard, just 2 sheets of paper printed of and stapled together, not even in some kind of nice folder. We will not be back.

Went there for a birthday celebration. Asked for a price on the mudcrab platter and was eventually told $140. We ordered two of these and one was fine whilst the other had a crab which was completely empty and never should have been served. Instead of dealing with the problem the maitre de decided to ignore us and one of my guests overheard a chef referring to our table whilst using the 'F' word. They eventually offered a couple of free desserts which they then tried to renege on.
Long story short, we will never return.

Lunched here recently. Service was ordinary and attitudes of the waitstaff were apathetic. It was a quiet day, not many other diners or large parties. Despite this, it took forever for our meals to arrive. Our meals were below average in quality and Very overpriced. Don't bother going there. I'll never go back that's for sure, such poor value for money.

My husband and I had lunch today and were really impressed. A great selection of fresh foods, something for everyone I would have thought. Desserts were a little bit of a let down on everything else (bit of "boxed cake" to it) but frankly, we were so full at that point it really didn't matter. Really enjoyed the little pot of chocolate mousse and the bread and butter pudding, the perfect finish. Also appreciated the readily available chilled water bottles for the table, served with a warm smile. Thanks guys! We'll be back!

I found the seafood buffet to be great value for money! There's a vast range of foods and the quality is great! I've been to the $50 seafood buffet somewhere else and the range was woeful! Broncos is so much better and so is the price.

With a great setting on the Brisbane river and nice appearance, we were expecting big things from Kingsleys.
Sadly they did not follow. Service was slow and confused, and several menu items were not available. Nor was our selection from the wine list. Well over an hour passed between ordering and mains arriving (I timed it), approximately 45-50 minutes into this time I was advised that the mashed potato I ordered on the side wasn't available either. No mashed potato. How does a steakhouse run out of potato?
The supervisor came to inquire if "everything was okay" once our mains (eventually) arrived. She then proceeded to ask if we'd like to order more drinks even though all our glasses were full. We declined and then she asked a second time, saying "the night was still young". This seemed rude, and appears very questionable RSA policy, especially since in the time we were waiting for mains we'd been offered more drinks at least 3 times already.
The entrees tasted great, but the main was adequate at best. Extra charges applied for sauces and such "the steak comes with nothing on the side". My steak was ordered medium rare, it tasted more like medium-well. I really can't be sure since there was very little light at our table, so I'll give them the benefit of the doubt. Assuming it was cooked correctly, it tasted very ordinary for the price.
Considering the good reviews, our bad experience at Kingsleys does seem out of place. Maybe they were having an off night or something, still it's not really an excuse, especially since there were more staff in the restaurant than diners. Long delays and unimpressive food, charged at a premium. We won't be back.
Revision: Have been advised by fellow diner that the toilets were unclean and smelled bad.

Very Disappointed. Waited well over an hour for our meals and when they came out they were average. For the price of the mains we expected a little more. As for the service, even though it was a busy night there were more than enough staff on to at least check if we wanted another drink. We had 3 different waitstaff walk past our table all night numerous times checking to clear tables and pour more water (our glasses must have been missed) and the only time we got another drink was when we actually stopped someone and asked.

We dined at Kingsleys recently for a special night out and were not disappointed. We were seated promptly despite having arrived early. I had the chilli crab for mains, which was delicious but really messy, staff were only too happy to assist with the provided plastic apron and extra serviettes.
I would recommend the scallops for entree, they were lovely. The wine list was also a winner. We left feeling a little overstuffed with food because we didn't want to miss a bite.

Absolutely appalling! I booked a table for valentine’s day, whilst booking I asked if they had a set menu, the response was no. Drove from north side and arrived to find they had lost the booking, found a table and sat down to find a set menu in front of us ($75pp).
Apparently I was supposed to get a phone call advising me of this? Didn't want to spoil the night and wouldn't get a table anywhere else so accepted. Both the bottles of red I asked for they didn't have, they offered a more expensive bottle at the same price. Table next to us sat down, looked at menu, apparently they weren’t advised also, got up and left. Table on other side asked for cocktails, came back and said they didn't have all the ingredients.
Our meals came out with a 5 minutes break between courses! Our waiter was very embarrassed and made the comment “I can’t believe they are doing this.” I do admit the food was ok (not $75pp ok though). Went to pay the bill, got charged full whack for the wine. We complained to the senior staff about our evening, they just wanted to argue with me and offered no compensation. We were out of the restaurant in 1 hour.

It's been 8 years since we last went to Wilson's Boathouse for dinner. 8 Years ago the service was bad and they tried to charge for food we did not order. Decided to try again after such a long time and was it better, well here's how the night unfolded.
Made a online book for 4 all confirmed via SMS and e-mail, good so far. Arrived to find they had a table organized for 3 even though their reservation sheet at the front desk had 4. Order 2 kids meals, calamari and chips. Meals came out laced with pepper, score for the kids - Not!
Decided to order a bottle or wine, waiter goes away and returns to say choice is unavailable. Chose another bottle, waiter goes away and returns to say the 2nd choice is unavailable. 3rd choice was in stock, big sigh. Proceeded to pay the bill in which again after 8 years got the same bill service of trying to charge us for something we did not even order.
Sad to say, even for a local resident who loves the area, will not be going back ever again for a meal or recommend to anyone as a restaurant choice. Big Thumbs Down!

Over priced fish and chips. For what you pay you expect a lot more. This place has so much potential. Shabby looking from the outside, they really need to spruce it up if they are going to average around the $40 mark for a main.

Tried The Belvedere twice. I was served by bogans. Had grissly steak, bugs that looked more like smashed crabs and scallops in shell that you needed a magnifying glass to see. Overpriced dressed-up meals. Won't be back.

I really like this place. I had a superbly-cooked lunch of Lamb cutlets with fresh pita bread, a yoghurt dip and a fresh greens salad. It could not have been better.
The ambience is great, you can sit inside or outside, either under the verandah or in the garden, where you can watch the passing pedestrian promenade. Talking to the staff, their commitment to fresh, healthy food and to a genuinely sustainable, low impact operation is very impressive. In my eyes that adds real value to this experience. I also reckon that this integrity, quality and value for money is unusual for South Bank, where over-priced, poor quality food and service are only too common.

A bit expensive in terms of value for the food you are served. Ambience, great unless you are under the a/c in a walkway with chatting waiters nearby, note ask for a window seat. Service excellent, almost too good a little more time between courses would be good, felt rushed.
Food is excellent quality, small portions, well presented, generally wonderful flavour, but some bland and some over powering, watch out for the vinegar, have drink ready. Not a 10, but one of the best in Brisbane.
