One of Strathpine's best kept secrets. The food is fantastic and a great experience for the kids! The green tea ice-cream is a must have!

It is always difficult choosing a restaurant at South Bank as there are so many great places to eat. Of the two Ginga restaurants at South Bank, we chose the quieter one on Grey Street.
Ginga is a Japanese fusion restaurant and the menu features dishes from a number of countries including Japan, China, Korea and Italy, that would be the pizzas!
We had a wonderful Baked chicken Katsu with white sauce (on fried rice baked with cheese) and a Chicken Karaage curry. For $5.00 extra we were able to create a combo. We chose the Gyudon thinly sliced beef.
The food was really nice, especially the Baked chicken Katsu with white sauce, a dish we had never tried before, but would highly recommend.

Really like the dumplings here. I wish there was more of a variety though as they do get boring. Its always busy and the staff are sometimes not on the ball with the service. Overall a great place!

Went last night with a large party Sat-10th March-2012. We had to pre-order the meal? sat around two teppanyaki hot plates with only one cook. Food preparation was average to say the best, rice was nice. No showmanship by the cook which is what Teppanyaki restaurants are renowned for. Drinks were very slow in coming, Wouldn't go back to this place again, too many other choices in Brisbane to have to put up with such a poor offering.

This place is over-hyped fusion food.
Its not 'Japanese' in the true gastronomic sense.
Nothing wrong with that, but please, don't blab on about it being 'pure'.
But the true evil is the cost of meals in this place - its outrageous bordering on criminal.
Food quality is 7/10. Service 6/10. Decor 8/10. Value for money 1/10.
And, on the day we were there, they had all the air-con blasting away, with all the doors open! Greenthinking they are not.
Do yourself a flavour, go elsewhere, your wallet/purse will appreciate it.
Better, cheaper elsewhere.

Whats not good? well the place could use a spring clean, there has been some unused junk around for ages (like the espresso machine which I have Never seen in action in the 6 years I have been going there). The lady that runs the joint could do with a personality injection, and the menu needs some evolution.
Apart from that this is the very cheapest and best value sushi place in brisbane even if the sushi is not "traditional" if you want that, flights to tokyo are really cheap at the moment. The $2 days are great and you can order what you want off the menu. Get rid of the grilled corn though.. 1 whole corn cost 99c, one half glazed and grilled corn is $3. You can fill yourself up for about $20 and green tea is still free.

I went with my colombian boyfriend and a korean friend and we all were amazed by all the flavours and the great value. Portions were perfect and the atmosphere, lovely. I'll be back soon.

Unfortunately, I agree with most of the reviews here, I also walked out of Little Tokyo extremely disappointed with the value for money. The tempura vegetable entrees and beef carpaccio were nice, but I was very disappointed with the bland sides and small quantity (even for japanese) of meat in the mains. The service was indifferent, although I liked the decor. Time to give people a little more bang for their buck Little Tokyo!

Was pleasantly surprised by their service. Even though there was only one girl running around trying to serve everyone, the place was very calm and well handled. The food was very palatable though there was not much selection available at the time. Maybe later, when it's busier, the chefs may lay out more food but really, if you wanted something specific, you could just order it. Overall, very pleasant and I would definitely go there again.

A bit expensive in terms of value for the food you are served. Ambience, great unless you are under the a/c in a walkway with chatting waiters nearby, note ask for a window seat. Service excellent, almost too good a little more time between courses would be good, felt rushed.
Food is excellent quality, small portions, well presented, generally wonderful flavour, but some bland and some over powering, watch out for the vinegar, have drink ready. Not a 10, but one of the best in Brisbane.

Absolutely loved the sushi at Zuri bar and dining last Wednesday night! I was blown away with the quality of the sushi and at $19! My favorite was the chicken karage roll... beautiful savory flavor with a crunch... not sure what previous reviewer was talking about because my boyfriend had some fresh salmon and avocado in some of his and my cooked tuna was yum too... Maybe it's changed since then. Anyway we will be back next time we are up from the coast!! :)

This place used to be good, but has changed hands seemingly several times in the last two years and deteriorated markedly. The shop is now very dirty (just look at the tiles when you walk in).
The staff can hardly speak english, and are pretty off-hand, even allowing for the fact that it's basically just a snack bar. The food still seems fresh, except for the deep fryer oil which must be about 3 months old but is often not properly cleaned any more.

The noodles were interesting and different from other Ramen places. It was nice and cooked al dente it seems. It is small, but I was full by the time the dish was finished. I'm pretty small so for anyone else, I'd recommend an upgrade.
I came here a 2nd time, I had the Tonkotsu (again) but found that the soup base wasn't hot enough, and just warm. I suppose you need to eat it quick. I find the Ramen here much more expensive than the ones you get in Sydney.

I just wish they wouldn't wear their gloved hand to take the money off you when they then return to making sushi with the same gloved hand. Just gross and I only buy cooked food there because of it. Yuck!
